Wait, you mean I can not impersonate myself to be me and try and gain an advantage because I am me but really not me and just someone else, now I am just confused and think I need some help.  Can someone start a GoFund me page for me I need money to become a rich foreigner who is hansum, so I need surgery as well. ........

Hah ha. Do what everyone else does. Throw a bit of money around and pretend to be rich. You don't need surgery, you are automatically hansum young man!

The Royal Thai Police have warned social media users to be careful of adding people who make friend requests online if they are not friends in real life.

Not sure that’s quite how “friending” works in this day and age.

Who has the time to leave the virtual world and find real people to be friends with?

That’s so last century.

I think I have been in this country too long and become a little jaded and very skeptical when it comes to playing the games that are played here by family, friends and then the Thai girls themselves who claim they are just a regular girl.  You need to be fresh off the boat to buy into the BS bandied around, yet some still do fall in with both feet and never learn from either their past or someone else.

Yeah , I have never understood the concept of people talking to each other online , I much prefer talking to people in real life

Someone has to pay hubby and The Nigerian so lo and behold it's cocoonclub

Haha, no, she’s getting it for free. Though she was pretty shocked, almost offended, when I told her how some older Thai ladies would treat me when I was a student here.

I never made it into the bar host scene at that time. I actually tried but never dared to actually go to one of the four host bars so only reached out to people online. Some Farang friend (half Asian though) actually made it into the bar host scene in Japan though he said it’s actually pretty hard work as those ladies want to drink whole night and you cannot refuse the tequila shots but instead just go out to puke it out.

Just make sure you don’t do it on a train…

Talking about big brother, has the Thai police don't already have enough on their hands that they into who to be friend on social media....What next i wonder? who to talk to in the street and on the phone?...

They're giving tips on how to avoid potential romance scams that many Thais have fallen for and all you can do is disparage them for that?   Geez...

Yet another Thai racist blaming foreigners and depicting us as evil. For those of us that live here, we are perfectly aware that Thai people are guilty of the same BS (sick buffalo), so this fool needs to keep his mouth shut!!!

Explain what is racist about the police warning people not to fall for romance scams that are always perpetrated by foreigners?   The only foreigners "being depicted as evil" are the ones involved in the scams. Is that characterisation by RTP wrong in some way?

There's a huge difference between foreigners voluntarily providing funds for Thais they know (and knowing where it's going) and these romance scams.

"this fool needs to keep his mouth shut!!!"

Nonsense.

And some swallow all the barstool <deleted> and can never accept good fortune when it finds them.

As part of this he said that people should be especially careful of well-off, handsome looking strangers who claimed they were foreigners who wanted to befriend you.

Those swarthy scoundrel farangs !

"Farangs", he did not mention farangs, did he?   Blacks, surely?

And you are who that I need to explain anything to?

Your ignorance is truly bliss, isn't it?

Clearly, not.   I doubt that anyone would take much notice of your "explanations".

No, I've never taken any notice of your inaccurate "explanations".

Seeing as NOONE has EVER successfully explained anything to you anyway...

That WeChat used to be bad I think all the free lancers have give up now, I downloaded the app because of all the Chinese guest we used to get, it has a feature on there "People near By" it tells you who is within 500 meters of you, It seems like nobody is using it these day,

Precisely, because there's rarely a need to and no one, apart from you sees a need to so.

Having said that, what does "NOONE" [sic] mean, perhaps you could explain that to me?

I understand many Thai ladies are already experts in romance scams so will be aware of any potential traps.

How many of us have heard the "Dahling, water buffalo need go see psychiatrist" or "My mum back in village very sick, she need to go see top specialist doctor in Seychelles".

The mother of brother-in-law's wife, a twice divorced woman in her late forties got really excited when a bloke, she had never met, who claimed to be an Italian popped up out of the blue and started courting her on FB a couple of years back, praising her beauty etc. She cannot speak English or any other foreign language and his English was pretty bad from the posts I saw. She was playing hard to get but telling people he was plannning to visit her in Thailand had obviously her hopes up about getting married to a wealthy farang (they are all wealthy and very generous, aren't they?).  I am sure if he was actually a Nigerian scammer or just a rather bored Italian but we never heard any more of it after a couple of months.

Some are amazingly naive and it is easy to see how they fall for the romance scammers but very sad nonetheless. I suppose it is equally sad how many lonely farangs get conned by bar girls.

A Thai woman in the village rubbing two coins together and a well-off foreigner meet online. Hmmm, who should worry more about getting scammed?

They seem to have terrible taste. I've seen young girls swoon over bald middle aged Afghans. They go for Nigerians. Poor girls are clueless.

I take it that you can't!

I got a Facebook friend request from someone who I know died 2 years ago.  Either his account was hacked or Facebook is expanding into entirely new markets.

If they ( The RTP ) actually enforced the LAW in Thailand instead of playing with computers, Thailand would be a far better place .

The RTP giving advice is absolutely pointless as they are some of the biggest scammers ion the country. Ethically and morally they are corrupt. sadly
