Boy.......Going into a bank is very stressful now..........

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

First they closed many bank branches, and the ones left open are getting the overflow from the closed branches, so they are extra busy......

Thankfully I only go to the Bank once a month to pay my rent.....Most times I am in and out in 5 minutes....

Now they are only letting a few people in the bank and everyone else has to wait outside...

Also they are really watching the temperature machine close.....I had to stand in line for about 45 minutes outside before I even got to the temperature reader to get in the bank....I had  my nose outside my mask to breath fresh air so I did not get hot.....But a bank employee scolded me for not wearing the mask correctly......So ok, I am now wearing the mask correctly but I am worried breathing in the warm air will raise my temperature....

Then a lady about 5-6 ahead of me failed the temperature test.....They would not let her in the bank.....They took her off to the side and started taking all her information (to give all her info to  god only knows who).......Bloody hell seeing this made me nervous and I felt my temperature rising........If I failed the test then what?.......Stand there and give all my info, or get the heck out of doge as fast as possible?.......Now I am getting really stressed out......So I pull my mask out and try and breath in cool air..........I finally get up to the temperature reader, and thankfully I passed and they let me in....

Man ..... Alls I wanted to do was pay the rent........

I know other foreigners who don't have (applied for) internet access.

One guy paying his 3BB internet at the shop, driving to water works, driving to PEA.

If you have too much time at hand...

I feel for the poster.

Up here on a weekday afternoon, Bangkok Bank and SCB deserted, 2 or 3 customers. Only the usual suspect KTB somehwhat crowded.

Phone app, laptop or pc, ALL are better than a visit to a brick & mortar shop.

You can use an app without having applied for internet banking at your bank?

Really?

I use app or PC alternating.

From Bangkok Bank ATM services:

Many services available

You can withdraw cash, transfer funds, make payments, pay your bills, top up your mobile phone, buy/sell mutual funds, check your account balance or register for services.

Do you really think that this will change your body temperature? The employee did a great job because by not using the mask correctly you put others at risk. But obviously you were not worried about THIS.

I studied the description of Bangkok Bank app and there are indeed different ways to apply/install mobile banking.

As I was a "Bualuang iBanking customer" beforehand is was simple:

Download and log in with your existing Bualuang iBanking User ID and password

I just handed my phone to the banking assistant ...... BKB ....... and TMB.

They handed it back with the apps installed and working.

I had a similar problem at the bank last week while wearing a mask over my nose. Every time I breathed out my glasses misted up.

What to do? Wear my mask properly and make mistakes, or lower it long enough to sign everything then pull it back up.

I have a similar problem getting out of my pick up with the a/c on.

Good to know and if it is that simple why would anyone still queue at a bank for trivial stuff. My visits are for new card, new bank book, letter for immigration.

It's been at least a year of mask wearing, if you still can't wear your mask correctly you shouldn't go out in public,

I sure as heck won't be giving "my" information to any of these "not a foreigner" people. Not really sure who in GOD's name they "think" they are, but not going to happen...

Does breathing in warm air raise or lower your temperature?....Have you seen the lines outside of banks now? and how close they are looking at the temperature thingy? Think about it....

Even better on an Android. ????

Yep phone APP is the way to go.

Our small bank is always crowded too, and once a year the wife goes to pay an annual insurance premium. She does not have Internet or apps as she is not tech savvy enough. This was due this week so to avoid a trip I dug out last years bill and scanned the QR code, up popped her details, policy number, bank details etc. Fill in the amount and transfer. Job done.

If the OP is not able to use phone app, why not pay a trusted Thai to go for you if the bank allows?

I'm not a doctor (not even a 2020 Social Media Medical Graduate????) but as far as I know the 'high temperature' caused by a virus and detected by these machines is your body's core temperature, not your skin temperature. And that your skin temperature changes depending on your mood and activities, but your core temperature is more stable. But I am happy to be proven wrong here.

Last year I remember an old (superior) man force the guard at our Makro to move the large outdoor fan that was keeping him cool, in fear that it would fool the temperature detector and let infected people into the shop. ????‍♂️

In the bank, remove your glasses and adjust the distance of whatever you are doing so that you can see. Further or closer usually does it.

There is always a solution if you choose to not wear blinkers.

Hi, anyone knowing the opening hours Kasikorn bank on Jomtien beach , this for my ret . ext. bank letter for immigration, and which covid measures they now take ..?

THX

You can also transfer money at the ATM, no need to go inside the bank, even if you don't have online banking set up.

Do YOU wear spectacles?

If you do, you will understand. If you don't I cannot help you.

BTW thank you for your unwanted and un-needed advice. I have filed it under trash.

I have tried that thank you.

However the print was so small I would have needed a magnifying glass as well.

She put 2 crosses on the form but didn't tell me what the second one was for. (My mobile number).

I wear them and I do exactly as I advised. You can also just take your glasses off, clean them and replace them on your nose. That works too.

Alternatively you can just inconvenience everyone else around you, by removing your mask or not wearing it properly. Many choose the latter, claiming that they cannot breathe etc

My wife pays our rent every month but ATM transfer, 5 minutes at the ATM outside and done, have no idea why the poster need to actually go into the bank - and you get a slip for evidence too !
