Daily News published a report on the latest situation regarding vaccine availability in Thailand citing their sources at a CCSA meeting.

The overall report was upbeat suggesting that more vaccines and more choice was soon on the way as Thailand battles its most serious wave of Covid-19 yet.

They said that Astra Zeneca vaccine will be distributed to the tune of 5 million doses a month until 61 million doses was completed. So far it's been 14.7 million, they claimed.

Moderna vaccine - ordered by many expats in Thailand online posts suggest - will not be available until "the end of the year".

The Government Pharmaceutical Organisation and the Red Cross are working on the import of Moderna.

Sinovac has already been jabbed 13.4 million times and 5.7 million more doses will be available in August and September. One million was donated.

Twenty million doses of Pfizer vaccine would be available in the fourth quarter (from October to December). Some has already been donated in two lots.

Johnson and Johnson cannot import yet due to registration problems.

Sputnik is still to be registered by the Thai FDA.

Five million doses of Sinopharm have been imported already and five million more are on the way.

  • Whatever. Until it turns up, it's all just the same blah blah blah.

  • My wife paid for moderna in October. So this is not the case anymore?

  • Ditto except I live in the once thriving metropolis of Pattaya.  I signed up weeks ago; received email confirming YET yesterday Bangkok/Pattaya Hospital went live.  At 9.30am all appointments filled.

So between AZ and Sinovac they have jabbed 28.1 million doses into arms, of course some of those are double vaxxed.  Does this Jive would the daily numbers.  Guess I need to see the numbers completed since March, and not just since the rollout in June.

"J&J not imported yet because of registration problems"

What can this mean? I thought J&J had been given the go-ahead in TH.

Not correct. Already in Surin.

A lot of numbers are flying in the air right now but at least foreigners in this country have not been forgotten and at last many of them have been vaccinated and many will be soon and thanks to whom who have brought this about when we all thoughts that we foreigners don't matter to the Thai people...

Still the same. I have paid for Moderna also. When I paid I expected to get jab early next year taking into account delivery due in Oct and queues. Now. with this delivery due 'end of year', I expect to get next year maybe by April-June? The hospital (THG) is holding onto my cash. Meanwhile the govt is since giving away Pfizers mRNA for free to those eligible. Who says they don't have a grip of things?

Numbers, dates, press releases, changing time table, all smoke curtains, for the making the people confused, to prepare themselves for if something goes wrong they could say .. we told you that........

And than they Mr Incompetence himself say that people who makes unrest by fake news should  be prosecuted.. Now it so easy to start with all these twisting and twirling government officials

I’ve noticed a significant rise in foreigners being offered AZ now since registering for Pfizer

Maybe they hope to give enough AZ out that foreigners won’t be asking for Pfizer anymore

Poor journalism and fact-checking, but that's hardly news. Yes, J&J has been approved, otherwise how could the French have given it to all their citizens living here?

Believe that's from the US donated Pfizer and not what has been reported as ordered by this Government.

I think the article is wrong about moderna. According to other govt sources in other news articles the vaccine is in three shipment. 4 million Oct-Dec this years, 1 million Jan 22 and then 5 illil the end of the 1st qtr next year. My hospital is planning on this.

THG (Line app) today opened for registration for the second batch of Moderna vaccines for Q1 2022. Odd when simultaneously delaying the first batch to at least the of the year.

They sold 9 million doses in total but are only getting 4 million at most in the 4th quarter (after giving 1 million to the Red Cross). It will be a matter of where you are in the Q and more importantly, who you know, in order to get Moderna in the 4th quarter.

A totally unreliable source said there will be 55m Moderna. 55m Moderna and 55m Johnston vaccines by end Oct 2021. The source also added that 1,555,555,555,555 bhat in tourist revenue in 2022.

Any other source than you?

None as unreliable as me - I do try but even a broken clock is always right twice per day.

It says here that Surin back-office staff have jumped the queue in front of all the priority groups. I'm guessing it must be for sale on the black market there.

1 is a nurse from  from a government hospital  Rattanaburi. amphor .

From previous news articles, my understanding regarding the Moderna vaccine was that 4.9 million doses had been ordered for delivery during the last quarter of this year. 1.1 million had been siphoned off by the Red Cross and the 3.9 million remainder would be allocated to private hospitals. The private hospitals had received orders for 9.2 million doses, thus leaving a big shortfall.

A second order for a further 5 million doses from Moderna is due to arrive during the first quarter of 2022.

I received an email on Sunday from the Sukumvit Hospital confirming my order, though the date for the vaccination will not be confirmed until they are in receipt the vaccine.  Admittedly there is plenty of scope for things to change but it does seem that they are still expecting to be in receipt of the vaccine as quoted in the original timeframe.

I have also received a SMS from them advising that they are now taking orders for doses from the second order due next year.

Then question is not "if" rather then "when"

The government talks to much with to little actions.

so, from a priority group. Good to hear.

What is most distressing though is the accusation that Surin back-office staff have used their positions to enable themselves (And others?) to jump the priority queue and thereby endanger vunerable peoples lives.

Not worry, after seeing the roaring success and financial benefits of exporting diseases and vaccines there'll be another chance at a chinese vaccine in a future pandemic.
