Foreigners protesting are the least of their worries.   Can't blame it on the foreign bogeymen this time, chumps.

It's usually "T.I.T.S." = This is Thailand, silly.

Wonder if a deportation flight will get me a flight home easier

Peaceful assembly is not "political involvement" but a basic human right.

Where is it in the Thai 'constitution as pertaining to foreigners.'?

No, cuz you'll have to do hard time in the grey bar hotel first.

A foreigner who is stupid enough to get involved in any kind of political protest probably deserves to be deported and blacklisted.

That said, the leadership of this country are a bunch of bozos.

Let's not blame ourselves, we contribute to the Thai economy, therefore we have a clean conscience.

On the other hand this government has been cheating us and is not being being prosecuted.

Foreigners who interfere in this, are not 100% OK at the top floor and should probably have the top floor examined. Stay out of it. It only course problems.

I did not read all of the comments and likely someone has already mentioned this

but even though i am not a fan of this government at all i do agree with what

they are saying about foreigners not being allowed to protest.

imagine this

Don't be alarmed the letter said,

but mr. Brown ,your son is dead.

and it came from Bangkok.

I obey the laws of any land that I am in. What others "should" do is their businesses.  Can't figure out who the  "we" are.  Perhaps replace with "I"?

I agree with this foreigners  should have no say in the Thailand laws or politics

its amazed me of some of these farang in here and their mind set, their entitlement, freedom of speech, their right, last time i check YOU ARE A GUESTS, "facepalm", just speechless

Most of us are NOT guests, Guests come and go. We LIVE here and are subject to everyday Government edicts and dictates, the same as Thais, whether we like or not. But foreigners are being told they cannot protest or will be deported, so I wont protest.

As far as my readings on this forum goes, it seems there is plenty of freedom of speech and I wish for no more entitlement than I already have.

I'm also 64 and if anything could make me leave this country quicker it would be a Chinese take over

those over 4.5mln donated by the other countries vaccines were given to support also healthy democratic society, including foreigners.

So people can freely go on the streets and protest, if they wish so.

They were not donated in support of authoritarian rule by the government

Expressing opinion on an online forum is not protesting in the streets. I can’t remember the govt ever threatening members of Thvisa for posting anti govt opinions. But out in the streets? Well anybody here with a freaking brain should know that’s just plain stupid.  BTW, tell me any country that provides foreigners with the same rights and privileges as citizens. If you’re choosing to live in a foreign country BE ADAPTABLE.

It almost seems like they are scared of us. Any military led country is scared of everybody and anybody that might overthrow their control by gun. Look at the biggest example China, then followed by countries like Russia, Myanmar, N. Korea, Afghanistan, and that nasty piece of garbage controlling Belarus. In “my world” there would be an international UN military force who would tell these despots, you have a month to change, after that the international military will come in and either arrest you, or kill you. If your arrested you will go on trial at The Hague. The military force would only need to invade once to prove a point, then the other despots would change their system pretty quickly. I know I am dreaming….but everything starts out as a dream.

I agree entirely with your post........but the UK is probably overly generous regarding the 'rights' of non-citizens.

Only the right of the regime to demand impunity and take down anyone that threatens it...

They just warned foreigners to stay away. Makes perfect sense to others I am sure.

Section 44

A person shall enjoy the liberty to assemble peacefully and without arms.

And no, it does not define "a person" as "a Thai national".

You go ahead and have that printed on a t-shirt (recommend both Thai & English) then get into the thick of the protests. Make sure you are VERY active, VERY vocal. Let us know how that works out for you.

After how many decades and x thousand Baht in tax contributions does one cease to be a guest and become a resident/member of society?

Nah buddy, you go ahead and prove your contrary point, that is, if you have one.
