The Rural Doctors Society (RDS) has warned Thai people not to lower their guard, noting that COVID-19 infections in Thailand are not declining, as widely misunderstood. On the contrary, are increasing, averaging over 20,000 cases a day.

In its Facebook post today (Sunday), the RDS says “please pay attention and be on the alert” as it pointed out at the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has shown two figures for new infections today, from different testing methods –  10,817 cases from RT-PCR tests and 10,055 cases from antigen tests.

Actual infections today from the two test results should have been more than 20,000 cases, said the RDS.

I think the fact that Thailand is ranked an extremely high 6th in the world for most cases in critical condition and yet is only 154th on the world for testing per million speaks volumes.

  • Caught massaging the figures I guess.

The criticals simply do not match the testing numbers

If it follows the same trend as in most countries, it is the cities and heavily populated areas that get hit first and hardest, later it is the rural areas.

Uncle Too has an opening agenda.  I never believe the daily figures of positive people reported.

Does that mean non-Thais can stop wearing masks, and go back to normal?

Edit Ooops  I confused antigen with antibody test

Is that why they keep pushing us for these insurances because they know we gonna need it?

I think that’s pretty spot on I live North  of Chiang Mai and we have seen a steady increase in cases in recent weeks.

It's true the numbers are going up. Maybe if they stopped giving us 1 vaccine that works and the other 1  that is a dud we can get over this and back to some degree of normality.

They just don't want to tell us. It is evident that the Rural Doctors see the dead of night, restaurants serving alcohol in coffee cups, bars, and COE are the culprits.

No problem, tomorrow Anutin will explain the misunderstanding. I'm getting tired of repeating myself.

So the government has lied to the UK to get itself off the red list?

Ho..hum!!!  And the Sky is Falling into that bottomless pit of Never-Ending Fear!!!   Or so Chicken Little (aka RDS) would have us all believe!!!

It's my understanding that the positive ATK test people then get a PCR test to confirm the result and then are added to the daily figure. If you add PCR and ATK figures people will be getting counted twice.

Yeah, what is the cost of cremation?

Can I pre-arrange?

Just like the floods Prayuth and his team have it all under control, if things get really bad the general can always issue a supreme military command and make it all go away

my understanding - only if they present themselves to a hospital needing medical care

The Government, GPO, and the Health Ministry are usually at loggerheads with the Thai Doctors Rural Society.

The Rural society is usually right.

The main reason there's proper people in the medical profession and not unqualified people trying to make a profit over the well being of Thai Society as a whole.

My understanding is the Thai Rural Doctors Society who themselves carried out mass testing in Bangkok with ATK's know what they're talking about. Its also my understanding that they are only pcr tested if taken as a hospital admission, they are not pcr tested when positive by atk and go to home isolation, community care center or quarantine.

Considering that Thailand classifies its cases as 80% green which means no or slight symptoms these are the ones who remain at home in isolation, community care or quarantine.

Are you referring to self antigen tests? Of course that wouldn’t be included in any counts.

Either way, there would be some double counting.

I am actually surprised that a licensed doctor would even say they should add the two numbers withh a straight face.

Who would know they had a positive ATK test unless they reported it?
