Yes. Also it won't be long before retirees will need to show insurance upon visa renewal also. I have an elderly friend retired here who has never had insurance. He's almost 70. I've always thought if they bring this in he is too old now to even get any cover. Then what?

You know that there are a lot of antivax people around some can actually do math and so far this has not been challenged. So if this was a big scam they would have exposed it. These statistics are easy to check and to make.

 

You know the amount of people who are vaccinated and who are not vaccinated. So when someone ends up in a hospital the symptoms are bad. I mean why else go to a hospital.

 

Then they check if your vaccinated or unvaccinated. Now lets take some  example numbers to show how easy it is to get these percentages. 10 million people in the country 9 million vaccinated 1 million of unvaxxed.

 

So if we now have 9 people who are vaccinated in the hospital from covid and 2 unvaxxed ones we can say that people who are vaxxed have 50% less chance to get bad symptoms. Because 9 / 9 million x 100 = 0.0001% chance to get back symptoms

2 out of 1 million is 2 / 1 million x 100 = 0,0002% chance to get bad symptoms if not vaxxed.

 

So basically double the chance in this example. For real studies have shown its about 8 times more chance to have bad symptoms. So this is easy to check and so on. Sorry, no big conspiracy there maybe its time to join the rest of the normal thinking people. 

 

Maybe its time to trust a bit more and stop being such a paranoid person.

In my country its a serious problem and I am happy they are trying to force people to take jabs. Before i thought words would be enough but antivaxxers cant be reasoned with. So in my country we got lock downs again as the health system is getting into trouble. Guess what antivaxxers are the majority of patients. Selfish B....   

 

The healthcare people are begging people to get vaccinated as the pressure is too much plus normal operations are delayed because of it.

First off, did you look at the numbers. On the whole 40 times more likely to die if you're unvaccinated. You really think that can be explained away by Covid being mentioned on the birth certificate of people who happened to have terminal cancer or some other fatal illness. Get a grip. Did you notice that in the aged 18-29 group you were 99 more times likely to die if you had covid than if you didn't? 30-39  the likelihood is 48 times higher? 40-49 it's 63 times higher? You think it makes sense to attribute this huge disparity cancer or other conditions that are most frequently associated with old age? 

And who is the person whose handle is kjohnson5nyic who posted on github?  A medical statistician? An epidemiologist? You actually believe this anonymous person's construct  over an official report from the State of Texas?

Do you believe that being overweight is contagious? If so, can you identify the vector so work on a vaccine can be begun? I see a Nobel Prize in your future.

 

Also, obesity is a complicated problem and as more is learnt about it, overreating may be as much, if not more, a symptom rather than the cause. But even if obesity were entirely a person's fault, overreating is a frequent daily behavior that comes with a powerful reward. The same as drug and alcohol addiction. Is not taking a vaccine also a frequent and  difficult behavior to abstain from? Every days, does the unvaccinated person repeatedly struggle in order not to get vaccinated? 

 

Finally, I haven't seen any evidence of a huge surge in obesity anywhere that threatens to shut down hospitals and health care services to the non-obese. But maybe you know differently and can link to evidence such surges.

I don't like heavy handed measures but I approve of pushing people to do the right thing to get vaccinated.

 

Also people denying the seriousness of this pandemic to the general public are forgetting the very high incidence of long covid even for younger healthier people that had mild cases. Assuming most people will eventually be exposed you really do want to be vaccinated.

You might be surprised by how many people could care less if that turned out to be the case.

I ain't gonna take a mRNA jab, so if eventually there's no other way to stay here, I'll be looking if me, my girlfriend and our daughter can temporarily locate to another country that is more lenient with regards to vaccination policy.

 

It's completely ridiculous to force experimental vaccines on people. I'd be ok with just 2 Sinopharm jabs (was actually considering this yesterday), but then the doctor told my GF the third jab needs to be from Pfizer or AstraZeneca.

 

At this point we really cannot know for sure the mRNA jabs will not have any longterm harmful effects.

To be fair, this type of policy regarding restrictions for unvaccinated is being rapidly adopted around the world.  

Nothing unique about this in Thailand.  

 

This is a global drive to get those resisting the vaccine vaccinated and hence increase the %.  

 

The bottom line is ensuring intensive care units are not overwhelmed or worse, having to turn away critical patients, such as has happened in many countries and caused many deaths of both COVID patients and other patients with non-COVID life threatening conditions.  

Once borders are fully opened and all establishments running, infection rates will inevitably ramp right up.  Vaccinated are much less likely to become critically ill and overwhelm intensive care and critical care wards. 

 

I don't think any one of us would like to be turned away from ICU when lying on a gurney in an ambulance suffering a serious injury, heart attack etc, because the beds are all taken up by COVID patients on ventilators and intubated.  

 

I personally don't care if someone doesn't want to be vaccinated as long as they don't end up in ICU taking up my bed if I need it urgently!

Well, we already know that Covid has long term effects. If you mean effects that show up later, namely latent effects, there are several viruses that do exactly that. Who knows, Covid may be added to the list.  To date, that has never been the case for a vaccine.

Why are you OK with Sinopharm vs  mRNA jab?  I had Sinopharm but would have taken anything offered up. Seems like statistically that there are more dangerous things I do every day compared to Covid vaccinations.  My current constipation frightens me much more than Covid or vaccinations.  My GF ran over the dog and drove the scooter into our fishpond yesterday.  I could have been the dog.  I would bet your odds of injury are much greater driving to the hospital than the vaccination.  Yes?

And if they are techers, they have no place educating our children. They should get vaxxed or lose their jobs (got one nutter in our school like that right now). 

The biggest cause of this problem is this stupid government who failed to obtain vaccine early in the piece and then the stupid act of stopping the donation from America plus stopping the Thammarat University from purchasing any and stopping the private hospitals from buying directly from the pharma companies and making every purchase go through this stupid inept government and even with the Moderna this government would not place an order for it until they got the money from the hospital groups but they promised the Moderna in mid October but they did not order it in time for then so it was put back to November and only half of the first order was delivered and that was not evenly distributed around the whole country. It was used mainly around the Bangkok and tourist areas and now this government wants to punish the people who live in the far provinces for there stupid actions and it can be seen on here that many farang agree with the government. How many doses of vaccine has this government wasted by their stupidity? My wife's family ordered paid for their Moderna vaccine back in early July and they were told a bunch of lies by this government because they were promised their vaccine in mid November 2021 and they still have not got it and now this idiot wants them to be isolated because of his stupidity.

I read a few days ago that you need to be double vax'd to enter KSR now....

 

btw, I'm not vax'd (I'm happy to wait my turn), but I did contract Covid a few weeks ago.  Symptoms were like a mild cold..  Slight fever (+1 C higher than normal), sore throat, ticklish cough for a few days, and loss of taste and smell for about 10 days.  I did take Ivermectin at the first signs, and after a home "lateral flow test".  Girlfriend also tested positive, but her daughter was negative, despite being the first one with symptoms - maybe no longer shedding the virus..

 

However, if you're very old & overweight, diabetic, or have other high risks then a vaccine is probably safer than acquiring immunity naturally.
