Thai woman in New York appeals for tip offs to police on a mugger who sexually assaulted her

A lawyer for Ms Jirajariyawetch said his client was left traumatised by the incident which occurred in the early hours of November 22nd last and which has been linked to a 500% rise in attacks on Asian Americans in the United States this year.

 

A young Thai woman has come forward in New York this week to encourage city residents to provide police with information about a man who robbed and sexually assaulted her in late November saying she feared someone else may become a victim of the same attacker.

 

A young Thai woman who recently moved to New York was attacked and mugged in the early hours of Monday morning November 22nd in another violent incident in a growing pattern which has seen attacks on the Asian community across the United States rise by 500% since 2020. In New York City alone, the number of violent attacks on Asian people in the city has increased to 128 reported incidents compared to 28 in 2020.

Just from reading the news accounts and watching the available video, this may be a robbery pure & simple with no racial overtones. Ms. Bew did not say she heard the perp mutter any racial epithets and the extended beating may have been just so she could not quickly go for help.

Crime is so bad in the USA right now. The robbers look for weakness not the color of your skin, but if you are pretty that's a extra plus against you.

I see this as more to do with male sexual frustration and impotence. Guy sees a very attractive girl on her own, late at night. He's immediately turned on. Maybe she rejects his advances if he makes any, so he resorts to violence, assault and robbery. I don't see women committing this sort of crime, at least, not in this manner, with a highly sexualised element. Always the guys. Violence against women. A global pandemic. Has to stop. Guys, can you please sort out a lifestyle that DOESN'T involve bashing the hell out of women because of your own failures?

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics. . All  can be manipulated to give whatever answer one wants.

In  Australia , there is always  outcries as to the number of "black deaths in  custody".  That being police or prisons.

I  submitted a paper on this topic that actually reversed  previous statistics.  Obviously   there was a difference in addressing the subject..      I also recall the incident where a family, of three if I recall, was  beaten by a retarded Thai national in Hua Hin some time ago.       I wonder  how much of a scream that  caused in the U.K.,  and  how horriffed   Thais were???

I don't think that there's anyone on this forum who attack , robs and sexually assaults females .

   You would be better off posting your advice on a forum where criminals congregate

But does it really matter? Specific skin colour doesn't make you a criminal. There are many other things involved, and just because many of those that look similar to you have some traits, it doesn't matter that you or everyone that looks like that has them, too.

It matters a bit to keep things into perspective, show that blacks are just a lil bit more likely to be involved in this but basically this shows that whites and blacks are equal represented in hate crimes. If you look at it without knowing how the population is you might think whites are more likely to be involved. 

 

This basically shows everyone can be a racist.

As an American citizen and expat formerly of New York City, I am infuriated and ashamed by this report.

 

A large part of my anger falls upon the "Defund the Police" crowd.  Have a good look at our future.

 

I don't understand all the commentary about race and ethnicity.  If they catch the guy he should get 30 years to life.  I don't give a flyin' **** about his race, religion, poor economic background, lousy living conditions, deprived childhood, temporary emotional state, abusive parents, lack of opportunity,  ...............  (the list is infinite).

So because there are more White men than Black men in the USA , a Black man is more likely to commit a hate attack than a White man ?

There has been a huge rise in attacks on Asian in the USA , seen as revenge attacks for the spread of Covid
