Thais with military experience are signing up for Ukraine’s International Legion to help Ukraine defend itself from Russia’s invasion.

“I can see that Ukrainians are fighting to protect their land and their civilians,” said Chanapong or Ball [last name omitted], a 27-year-old Thai who applied for the international military force at the Ukrainian embassy in Bangkok on Tuesday.

“Children are dying, and they [Ukraine] are asking for help from anyone who can help them and I want to help.”

Stroll on! The Russia today is VERY different from the one that may have liberated you a lifetime ago. Get with it.

This is pretty hilarious when you consider they sat still while a Military Junta overthrew its own Thai government....Then again "Thais with military experience" may have been part of that overthrow problem...so again hilarious in this context

Really?? Fighting for Ukraine?? Why dont they fight in their own country against illegal occupation by military?? I guess they did in 2010 when Junta deployed snipers on it's own people.

They are going to fight the Russians .

Would you be willing to do that ?

Of course not. I am a peaceful man. Besides that, I like Russia (they liberated us from the Nazi's during WW II)...

I dunno, commendable and I'd do the same if younger with no dependents. What makes Thais less worthy to fight for a noble cause? Comparing events in Ukraine to the soft transfer of power in Thailand? Typical Boomer tat here.

Get in there lads. ????

As a war baby myself, I often remind myself that, without what the Russians did at Stalingrad and afterwards, I (in fact, most people on this platform) would be either doing the Sieg Heil salute these last 75 years or being part of the Resistance in our home countries against the Nazi conquerors.

That being said, Putin does not have to actually invade the whole country to more or less get what he wants- -- namely, guarantees (treaty?) from Nato that the latter will not drag Ukraine into Nato.

Silly bravado and macho showing off, no one really think that for one moment it will happen...

I am sure many will travel to fight but whether they can handle the harsh reality of partisan fighting against a merciless enemy. While western Countries may take mercenaries Prisoners Russia's history is that it does not

And because you like the russian, their leader can do whatever he wants? Besides that, its not the russian population that decide to attack their neighbour. What if the Russian bomb the hell out of your country/family? Still like them.

Can't see it would be much different from life in the EU ....... a united Europe under German rule.

Maybe the Ukranians could take in some of those brave Middle Eastern and Afircan men that have run off from their own countries problems to claim asylum in Europe whilst only Ukranian women and kids are leaving Ukraine.

This war isn't being waged by 'Russians' - its being waged by a meglomaniac dictator that just just happens to be Russian.  If the Russian people weren't fed the continous diet of lies and fantasies that they are, they wouldn't support their 'leader' or his 'special operation'.

Thousands of black students aren't allowed out of ucraine. Guess some students killed makes it a more serious war

"Students" seems to be the new name for the illegal immigrants who've been trying to get into the EU for months.

Yep but they apparently do have expertise in converting armoured vehicles gearboxes to one forward gear and 22 reverse gears ????

Why are members defaming this guy? Basically questioning his courage and calling him an idiot.  He should sue.  Then others seem fine that Russia kill Ukrainian people because they killed Nazis.  No words

I've always wondered why Thailand would conscript and then train it's underclass in warfare. Then I saw all the recruits mowing grass and washing cars and such; being tempted  or teased by Admiral/General household ladies.  If I was in charge it'd be a volunteer only force. Keep that military experience in check.

Sounds like a job for win drivers.   They like shooting each other.

That's all you can say?  He is volunteering to put his life at risk to fight for a cause and you can only make a pathetic comment like that?  More bravery in his little finger than you have in your whole body...

Have you ever volunteered to fight for a cause you believe in, at great personal risk to yourself...  I guess not.

Nazi's has to be neutralized. Otherwise they will be the basis on which it will start all over again in a few decades.
