Sanook Thai Caption: Luck runs out (for security man)

Sanook reported on what police are calling a tragic accident at a house in the village of Ban Nong Kham in Cha-Am, Phetchaburi, south central Thailand.

By a door in a house opposite the local school police found Sukreedee, 43, a security man at Hua Hin airport.

He was in uniform lying in a pool of blood. A .22 pen gun was lying beside the body.

Various old and used ammunition and anti-tank projectiles were taken into evidence from the house.

The deceased's parents Anan, 71, and Bunchom, 72, were watching TV in an adjacent room when they heard a shot and their son cry out.

He was already dead when they got to the body.

He had been shot in the forehead by his own gun.

Police think that while the victim was getting dressed and putting on his boots for work the pen gun dropped to the floor and went off killing him on the spot.

An autopsy has been ordered.

You might accidentally shoot yourself in the leg or foot or arm........but the forehead????

Having said that I see the leader of the Oath Keepers in the US was stupid enough to shoot himself in the eye.....talk about karma.

So this guy who likely had a pass through to airside carried a firearm with him ... that is a concern.

Apparently not in Thailand, who ever hired such a person?

They probably called his mother;"is he a good boy?"

"yes he is my baby, very nice man never killed any one yet"

Didn't know pen guns were standard issue for airport security guards.  Better not write a note with one.

First the guy who shot himself through the face with a speargun yesterday. Now this.

Why would an airport security guard need a pen gun for work?

I can sort of understand a pen gun though it is a big stretch, but anti tank missiles as well?
