Popular Post webfact
Thai Rath reported that three officers of Region 1 immigration were at Din Daeng police station in downtown Bangkok last night facing an initial grilling in the case of the abduction and extortion of a Chinese businessman and his Thai interpreter. ASEAN NOW reported on the case yesterday after the man - who has now left Thailand - was fleeced of 10 million baht. His interpreter went to the police in fear. Yesterday the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct cases decided there was ample evidence to issue arrest warrants for four policemen. Met 1 chief Pol Maj-Gen Attaporn Wongsiripreeda said three of the men were taken to the Din Daeng police station last night. Reporters got nothing out of them as they were led into an interrogation room where they faced Pol Lt-Gen Surachate Hakpan, the RTP deputy commander known universally as Big Joke. One suspect remains at large but Surachate said that he is expected to be in custody very soon despite his whereabouts being unknown at present. The three facing the grilling were Major Sorawit, Lieutenant Suriya and Senior Sergeant Major Pheerasak. The wanted man is Major Jiraphat. The three already held are expected to be remanded in custody by the court today. They have denied involvement and wanted a lawyer. Surachate said that immigration police have been asked to look into the background of the men. He said that he was convinced that this would have not been their first shakedown of a victim. He promised a full investigation into the men's activities and the transfer of money in the case noting that another Thai was also involved. Thai Rath noted that their sources indicated there was clear evidence in the case against the four suspects via the money transfer. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-03-22 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post ALLSEEINGEYE
Ever single person that gets locked up at IDC is basically kidnapped and extorted. You can only buy your plane ticket home through the IDC office at 3 times (in my case) the cost of a direct purchase. Some people have been rotting in there for literally years with little or no hope of getting out. Where is the justice for them? 3 2 2

Not just RTP and immigration; the army is equally corrupt. How do you think the many, many generals (why the Thai army needs so many generals is beyond me anyway) got so rich? Not to mention the civil service. My girlfriend has a friend who can give anyone a job for life as a civil servant, just have to pay 200,000 baht and it’s a done deal.

Gaccha
Has anyone gone to the immigration police office at Chengwatanna recently? I'm doing my counting on the back of an envelope, but it seems to me that all Region 1 immigration police are currently under arrest and unavailable to do any work... The thought of ending up beholding to a thai official and the treat of a thai prison cell scares the hell out of me and as a young man I spent a total of 166 days in a British army jail being beasted etc every day so I'm not a buttercup... 1
