A group of foreign tourists is being sought by the police after they assaulted staff at a restaurant in Soi San Sabai around 1am this morning. According to reports, the tourists, who are believed to be Jordanians and at least one Egyptian, were drunk, agitated and unruly when they were asked to queue properly.

 

They started throwing water bottles and attacked Thai staff before fleeing the scene.

 

The incident has gone viral on social media, with video footage of the brawl showing both foreign staff and tourists involved. Police say that they were notified of the fight at a bar/restaurant in Patong after midnight on Sunday.

that's a "big" surprise as usually citizens from these countries are muslims and muslims don't (are not supposed) to drink alcohol as for unruly that's normal behavior for the majority of them but don't want to sound racist or prejudice only talking (unfortunately) by personal experience

Good Egyptians and Jordanians in bad ones out everyone in-between knocked out by chair ????

Muslims on holiday are a very different thing to Muslims at home, with religious "authorities" looking over their shoulders.

 

It's a good thing that they get drunk (and do other "un-Muslim" stuff) in relative freedom.

 

Hopefully they take the "message" home with them and spread the "cancer" of it among their oppressed fellows.

An observation.   Many Middle East muslims drink alcohol, though not drawing attention to themselves.   I've been in the Business Lounge in Dubai/Bahrain many times observing Saudi's topping up before their flights to Riyhad etc.   At the moment, it's Ramadan, a month where Muslims cannot eat nor drink from sunrise to sunset.   When the sun goes down, they tend to party and gorge themsevles, and if alcohol is involved having not eaten for how ever many hours, that's going to cause problems.   So, whilst they may not adher to the Muslim 'no alcohol' script, adhering to Ramadan whilst on holiday is going to be an issue.

Wild Brawl Between Foreign Staff and Tourists Goes Viral in Patong, Phuket

Patong – A wild brawl involving both foreign staff of a bar/restaurant and foreign tourists went viral in Phuket, Thailand.

 

The Kathu District Chief Mr. Thitiwat Boonkit told the Phuket Express that after midnight on (March 27th) they were notified of a fight at a bar/restaurant in Soi Saen Sabai, Patong.

 

Police and district officers arrived at the scene to find only one party involved. Three foreigners who were Mr. MOHAMMAD J., Jordanian, MOHAMMAD A., an Egyptian, and Mr. WAI L., nationality unknown, who said to police that they worked legally at the bar/restaurant.

 

The three restaurant workers told officers that there were five foreign tourists of unknown nationality who were extremely intoxicated. They ordered some food and said they wanted it quick.

Pretty disappointing fight IMO.

The only good part was when one employee accidentally hit his coworker in the head with that plastic (broom?) handle

Seems to happen often, Middle Eastern young bucks stepping off the plane with their Levi's and ball caps on ready to 'let loose' until it's time to return to the desert.......... red cards. 

Love the guy using an oversized toothpick as a weapon!

Most Muslims are only "dry" in their own country.

Thousands cross borders every weekend for a "blow-out" and thousands more go on holidays to let their hair down and forget all about religion.
