 I'm not a frequent poster in these forums, but I've needed Visa advice and info here 4-5 times in my life - really important and stressful times when it meant being able to stay together with my wife or not,

Ubon Joe was always helpful, quick to reply, accurate and selfless. Helped so many selflessly - he could have charged good money for his knowledge if he wanted to. A good man. I hope he knew how many people's lives he touched,

May you have an easy road ahead...Joe Reedy

Of course like most of us on this forum I never met him in the real world, but I dare say there are few of us who had not sought or followed his advice at some time. Without question he smoothed the way for many of us. Personally I had more than a few private chats with him and and from that it was clear what thoroughly decent man he was. I’m truly saddened by this news and wish all his family the very best. RIP Joe.????

RIP Joe

in your life you are a mystery to yourself, but after you die everyone suddenly knows very well what you were like - if only they had told you sooner.

True comment but to be fair I think many, if not most, expressed their gratitude clearly at the time.

RIP Joe. Thanks for everything and you will be remember always.

RIP Joe. Thank you for everything. You will not be forgotten.

RIP, Joe.

Always impressed by the sheer depth and range of his contributions, which helped countless readers, including me.

Even if you were not at that moment interested in the Visa problem being analysed, Joe's replies were always just interesting to read.   Really sorry to see him go so early.

I'm shocked. Always ready to help and gave correct advice each time. His buffalo profile pic was his trademark. RIP Joe

All ways came to the rescue with advice many times over the years. Will  be greatly missed.

Sad sad sad sad.......He was the greatest most helpful most knowledgeable moderator ever about visas.....A huge loss for the expat community.....

I only recently moved to Ubon and had never met Ubon Joe. But I was close enough by that I went there early. Mostly chatted with the American Legion group, several of whom I had met before at US Embassy outreach.

So informally paid my respects as several family members gave a wai back. I just wanted to show up.

Many condolences to Joe's family. He will surely be missed by the ASEAN community as has been shown by the outpouring of praise towards him here. RIP Joe.

Oh this is indeed very sad news - he will be greatly missed no doubt

I am so grateful for the replies I got to my various queries over the years

thank you UbonJoe

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Sad, sad news.  Joe helped me time and time again on this forum with unfailingly good advice.  His patience and evident desire to be of service to others was truly exemplary.

Shocking and very sad news. UJ helped me on many occasions here and many others.......RIP Joe.

Funny when someone would chime in to a thread and say his advice was wrong, then give their wrong advice and he'd have to take their advice to pieces and re-assert what he said - and why it was right.

RIP

Joe, always courteous knowledgeable he took time to answer individual questions and made the snakes and ladders of the system understandable, big shoes to fill.

Guilty.

When I first got onto Thai Visa (at that time)..... And quoted ubonjoe pointing out some error (which was not an error just my ignorance) ...

Ubonjoe very politely pointed out my error.

That's the thing with ubonjoe..he always was polite and so so knowledgeable.

I would cringe if log into AseanNow and see that Joe had quoted me .. why...because would mean he is fixing up an error I had posted.

Thanks so much Ubonjoe
