I have to believe you're just trolling.

You'd be wrong but that's your prerogative.  This is a forum and having a differing opinion to other posters is not trolling (if it was you'd have to be admitting to trolling) but, regardless, whether you believe me or not is really of no consequence.

I read the document and in my lifetime I never have read something so shocking and so well laid out factually. Toast is an accurate summation.

Come on Lou, lets be honest here, no one would ever file a case without any substantiate evidence leading to probable cause in order to make the case before a grand jury.

trump's defense seems focused on trump's First Amendment right to lie.

That means they will be admitting in court that trump lied and knew he lost the election to Biden.

I wonder if the cult will not only applaud the defense tactic where trump admits to lying and losing, but still believe he won?

When two polar opposite things are wholeheartedly embraced as factual, that is evidence of a cult.

We've already seen this absurdity in trump's earlier indictment over the stolen classified documents, where his followers believed BOTH that trump declassified in his mind (sic) and also that the FBI planted the docs.

Ask the DOJ, they're the experts and if you really don't know that, my explaining it to you will not help!

So your post was just a personal opinion without facts or links to prove your point.

No, it was not just my opinion, the DOJ have demonstrated their corruption many times, that's a fact.

Once again for starting the bleeding obvious - it is a satirical, acerbic, acid or caustic comment of the highest order.

For every fair-minded individual in possession of his mental faculties -

the one and only Real POTUS 45 is

An abominal man, dishonest to the core, only concerned with himself, having at best scant regard to democratic principles and the Constitution.

Mea culpa not needed -

Humor, just like grace under pressure, is the mark of an accomplished man (my own definition). Your "satirical, acerbic, acid or caustic comment of the highest order" was an unexpected break for levity - delicious satire for a jaded soul like me - unfortunately, it fell in at a time when folks are feeling rather hi-strung.

But don't let that stop you... Looking forward to your interpretation of the upcoming superseding version (that hopefully would include Hunter's "crime of the century" and his laptop, among other "facts.")

PS - Just make sure you put up this banner <<< SARCASM ALERT!!!>>> at the top of your next post. (Yeah, sad but true.)

You can be of the opinion that the sun rises in the west and sinks in the east, too.

Reading the indictment, and noting how it is backed up by video, email, messages and under oath witness statements---none of which have been contested, as the current defense tactic is to say trump has a right to lie about the election---says you simply think the sun rises in the west and you're going to stick with that.

Lou, post some of these 'many times'. You're so certain, it should be easy.

I don't think you have.

How old are you?

You can answering by addressing facts in the indictment.

You have not commented on the content of the facts in the indictment, other than a child-like "they're false".

Time to address the facts, or stop trolling, BigNok.

Where did I use the phrase "they're false"?

"Time to address the facts, or stop trolling, BigNok".

What are you talking about?  Seems that you don't even know whose comments you're addressing!

Why would Trumps defence focus on First Amendment rights to lie? Surely that would not help his case to lie.

In Fact it was Jack Smith who said It was Trumps 1st amendment right to lie. Which is like saying what ever Trump says is a lie.

From the NYT

At the same time, the indictment hints at how Mr. Smith is trying to sidestep legal pitfalls and potential defenses. He began with an unusual preamble that reads like an opening statement at trial, acknowledging that Mr. Trump had a right to challenge the election results in court and even to lie about them, but drawing a distinction with the defendant’s pursuit of “unlawful means of discounting legitimate votes and subverting the election results.”

Good to hear.

This kind of humor doesn't work anymore, at least not in US politics.  Look through any thread on this subject.

Sad to hear,

Last time I checked, sarcasm is alive and well in the US,  both in and out of politics. But I agree that to some folks, it doesn't seem to register...

Well it was Trump's defense that put the focus on his right to free speech and started it all. Show's just how out of touch they really are.

Indictment of Donald Trump is a 'terribly tragic day' and shows speech is now 'criminalized': Trump Attorney

Lauro said the indictment of his client is "unprecedented" and argued it doesn’t just affect the former president but "every American who now realizes that the First Amendment is under assault."

"It's under attack by the Biden administration. We now have a political incumbent who is attacking Americans for their beliefs, attacking Americans for their speech and attacking Americans for their politics. This has never happened in the history of our country, and it's playing out right now," he continued.

Implicit in his statement is the assumption that President Biden has been directing the investigations and prosecutions, which is false.  However his cult will accept it without hesitation.

I agree. I doubt very much that Biden has the mental capacity to be "...directing the investigations and prosecutions...", but I don't doubt the left knows what's to be done.

Biden is smart enough to beat Trump from his basement so methinks you mischaracterize his intelligence level.

Don't get carried away snookums.

Dershowitz didn't say Trump is innocent.

A literal smoking gun isn't needed to convict people.

It happens everyday.

OK. Travel day for me. Redux -- I really don't care how all these criminal trials pan out AS LONG as he is not again elected President in 2024.

Not many people have the mental capacity to direct complex criminal investigations.

However, if you believe that there is some secret left wing group directing these indictments, you are deluded.
