In a dramatic incident unfolding at a condominium in Wat Boonyakanchana Ram, Nongprue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi, an Englishman was reported to have sustained injuries in a scuffle with his partner at around 03:00 on January 30, 2024.

The Pattaya Rescue Unit promptly responded to the assault call, coordinating with local police and dispatching rescue personnel to the scene, reported Siam Rath.

Upon arrival on the 7th floor, Room B4-701, responders discovered Ms. Chanyapak Thannakulyawit, 27, sobbing with a severe wound on her right hand, bleeding profusely and staining the room. Paramedics provided immediate assistance while the husband of the injured person was waiting to give a statement to the police.

Ms. Chanyapak revealed that a heated argument escalated, leading her to attempt to snatch a 15-centimeter fruit knife. Failing to overpower her husband, he took hold of the knife, swinging it in a threatening manner. In the ensuing struggle, she sustained the reported injuries.

Police officials from the Pattaya City Police Station, Muang Pattaya, have summoned the foreign husband to the Pattaya City Police Station, Khao Talo Substation, for a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this incident.

I hope there will some follow up news on this. It seems lots of Thai females grab knifes to win arguments. I always wondered how that will play out when someone gets hurt, and the police arrives.

Will the husband be prosecuted for injuring her with the knife?

Will she be prosecuted for taking a knife and threatening him with that?

Possibly he would never have injured her if she wouldn't have grabbed that knife. (yes, I know that is just a speculation)

I think from a "western" perspective only few people would grab a knife in an argument if they don't try to defend their life.

In Thailand there seems to be almost no barrier from a few words to grabbing the next available knife.

Celibacy is the only way to go.

Whenever I hear a friend or acquaintance discussing marital issues with their Thai wives/GF, the only advice I offer is "hide the knives and scissors". :coffee1:

Mine never has, and it would only happen once. It amazes me anyone would put up with such narcissistic and bipolar behaviour. Wouldn't be safe to go to sleep unless you could lock the door.

Did she swear that you reversed into the knife?

Yes I have first hand experience, it seems Thai women love grabbing knives!

No fraught, unhappy relationships. No chance of having to pay for offspring that you didn't really want in the first place.

I was pretty much celibate in the last 5 years of my 20 years in Thailand. Maybe to do with my sex drive gradually diminishing?

When I regretfully left Thailand in 2018 I still had a fair amount of money with which to start my new life in the UK. If in those later years I had been screwing-around, I wouldn't have had most of that cash.

The kick-off were sharp at two-thirty,
And soon as the whistle had went
Both sides started banging each other
'Til the swineherds could hear them in Kent.

So she went for the knife first, screwed up and got cut in the process of him defending himself?

I have been in Thailand 34 years and I still have not been able to work out why there is zero impulse control. Things just go from emotion to action with no filter. Is it the lack of consequences, a behavior based on what they see in TV, parenting issues …

My Ex did, and she is not Thai.

At the time he got hold on the knife, she changed to be an unarmed person. Did she throw herself into the knife?

You brits never learn, as a Scot, pleasure the woman...she grabs a knife, your response should be to grab the bread and peanut nut butter. Her nuchuring insticts will kick in and she will make you a tastey sandwedge to eat.

Dont correct my spelling, I have never called anybody a can't.

Same here. My ex-wife, Vietnamese, went totally beserk during a discussion (it was not even an argument) and attacked me with a knife, in front of our son. To defend myself I grabbed the knife and slapped her. Then she called the police. Police arrived at the house and she tried to convince them that I attacked her. Well, my son was there and told the police officers what really happened. The officers told her to shut up and never call the police again, when she is the attacker, otherwise they will arrest her. One of the police officers said to me:"Do you really want to stay with this crazy gal in the same house?" What I understood was 'run Forrest, run!' I ran. This happened in Germany. Have been living happily here in Thailand since 2011.

Wat Boonyakanchana Ram, Nongprue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi is a very long winded way to say Patttaya

20 years! How was the transition back to the UK mate? Mind saying the reasons for leaving?
