Welcome to the new post-swissgate Thailand, where shaming the farang on social media is your civic duty -- not that this guy doesn't deserve it. What a common thug.

One can only hope the worst foreign offenders clean up their act, but it is a disturbing trend.

Most of us have been guilty of gesticulating or showing frustration when cut off or similarly endangered. I generally just give a thumbs up when something happens and I'm on the bicycle, but the finger used to be my go to,  back in the old country.

I think the anger is pretty damn normal when you get smoked like that from behind.

I can't say I'm sure I'd behave much better during the initial adrenaline rush

Make your mind up Noodles.

In the first article you said his behaviour, whilst not only understandable, is something you'd do.

Now you're saying he deserved it and is a thug.

According to the article that seems to be from a phone but she later provided CCTV footage. As you say there's nothing showing what made him stop. I have doubts he would done it deliberately when riding a bike and she should have been further back anyway. Maybe that's why the cop wasn't that interested.

If he finds the person who hit him is the same one who apparently cut him up then that might explain his anger. Shock can be a reason also.

Johnny Foreigners.

Calling foreigners a condom  is very insulting in some countries.

Is it the same in your country?

he holds an Australian passport but i think he's actually  Swiss.   Revoke his visa,  deport him,  thai Netizens are furious at farangs now.

oh no the presenter is getting up on his high horse no doubt in part because of the Swiss guy. At least Thai people haven't been brainwashed with this "there's only race, the human race" BS and recognize this guy isn't the same as your typical Aussie farang. We have so many punks like this guy in America and if they start traveling to Thailand in numbers we're all screwed.

I was thinking the same myself. My wife's dashcam records front and rear. Something she doesn't want people to see. Plus, the first officer classed it as 50/50. It's the trend now since the 2 incidents with the Swiss guys.

I think it's from a phone not a dashcam.

Nevertheless, the police declined to acknowledge her account, citing the absence of dash camera footage as substantiating evidence.

That ain't no farang, he's a camel jockey with an Aussie accent.  Nobody is going to conflate the likes of him with a tanned, blue eyed geezer.

He could be Afghan and Australian for five generations...

And I am well versed in ..

Which would make him Australian, like all non-aboriginals born there.

The man explained that he drove his car out of a condominium in the Sukhumvit neighbourhood of Bangkok and encountered Agamom playing on a skateboard in the middle of the road.

She hit the motorbike while she was following it so close that there was no time to break .

Should she not have kept a distance for security ?

Anyway , talk is cheap ... the video shows the motorbike lying on the street only ...

She went to police and did not get the treatment she expected by the officer who claimed evidence ...

So she went to see his superior and this one ignored the missing evidence and promised " justice " to her .

Because she is thai , and the grounded victim is a farang ...?

Disgusting Bias in the ongoing farang dicrimination campaign here in Thailand .

Up to a judge to decide what is ' Justice ' , not to a policeman .

I agree with you....something not quite right here, especially as two Police Officers declined to back her up and sided with the foreigner.

Personally we have all seen bias against foreigners in Thailand in all circumstances, its a pity! Overcharging, bribery, immigration, Bank Accounts, accidents, attitude, jealousy... on and on!

There are however many good Thais!

If you were born yesterday you may believe this. At best you can call him a "New Australian", meaning literally any person from wherever that happens to get a piece of government paper with their name on it.

There’s another thread which has a video of the incident - the bike rider riding like an idiot & braking abruptly and causing the accident….

Even more of an idiot given in a collision the motorcycle/ rider is invariably the loser.

Anyway deport him for such appalling taste of attire , trying to resemble a Xmas 🌲

Unfortunately, the guy is obviously Australian and a Queenslander. Australians can have names from virtually anywhere on the planet. The origin of his name is in Indonesia.

He has tickets on himself believing he is a star:

Looked like he brake checked her, which is pretty silly when you're the one on a motorbike! With headphones like that on one wonders if he was the distracted driver?

It was on the news this morning.. She was driving wrong and hit the motorcycle from behind. The man was upset and spit on her frontscreen. The police told the woman that she was  wrong but she did not accept that and the RTP made excuses to the Australian man and she did not agree.. Just typical Thai style.. They never are wrong

The guy sounds like a loose canon and should better control himself but she ran into his bike from behind so by law she is in the wrong. The fact that she virtually admitted to having cut him off he got angry which isn't so unusual, still no excuse for his behaviour but it can be a frustrating country to drive in given the local driving standards and lack of driving integrity but 90% of the time the foreigner will be wrong even if he's in the right.
