Chatuchak Market

There are a few shops in the indoor malls around Chatuchak that deal in higher end used watches.  There's always a few serious looking buyers going through their goodies when I pass by.  I don't know what their process is (purchase and resale, consignment, etc), but they must get them from someone.  I'd start at the red building right outside the Kampheng Phet (sp?) MRT station.  It's an amazing collection of antiques, collectibles and artwork.

The old JJ Mall and MixT are pretty impressive, too. (Though I don't remember specifically watch shops, because I'm not in the market).  Either one is well worth a visit, especially if you haven't been there since Covid.

There is a place on the upper floors of Central World, opposite Big C  SuperCenter (maybe 4th,5th or 6th floor that sells used watches. Can't remember the name.

Also I have seen second hand watch sellers (Rolex, Patek etc) in MBK. Don't know how reliable though.

just go to Fortune town or Central world Rama 9 and you'll find watch shops there with Rolex's ....  just go in and ask them or they will know where to go.

Has he left us again?

I thought it was quiet.

Yes he has left his wife behind, and let her have his 5 houses, moving to Spain to buy a pool villa, if can you belief that.  You can see his post, on  Tues at 11 am ''this is going to be my last post on AN.''

A couple of suggestions for you..

1) Papaya , a shop on the 5th floor of CentralWorld , they also have a branch at MBK , both Bangkok.

2) www.watchbyladda.com , I have bought Rolex watches from them twice , they also have a bricks and mortar shop , but they are only interested in buying good condition , relatively new pieces with full box & papers..

Hope this has been helpful..

You could also sell on line through www.chrono24.com , very reputable and secure site , but quite high selling fees , circa 6%

If you have all the paperwork and original bill of sale sell it privately why bother with a dealer they’ll only give you a good deal if you want to purchase an upgrade from them  go to the website Watchfinder a very reliable company and you can get a valuation on line

I try the first serious answer.

Go to jewelry shops in the city center.

Or maybe visit Chinatown with all the gold shops.

Probably they won't buy it, but I am pretty sure they can tell you about places and/or people who might be interested.

I think I read somewhere that currently you can get a lot of money for these watches.

There used to be a Rolex centre near Central at Soi Lumpini.

I used it to service mine, but they sold them as well, I think, (fairly sure) near the old site of the UK Embassy and US Embassy.

Unsure if it's still there. If they don't buy them, they will know who does.

Also, people try to sell them on the website bahtsold.com

Komehyo in Central world.

Its a Japanese chainstore specialising in second hand luxury goods. You can visit their site and contact in Line and get a quote in Line. I bought an Explorer 1 from them, no worries. They have a store in Terminal 21 and BangNa too.  They need to make a profit so you wont get market rate. You'd get more on Chrono 24 but then you got the risk of disputes.  I wanted to sell a GrandSeiko to Komehyo that i bought at Gaysorn for 190k 3 years ago and Komehyo offered me 80 k so not a great offer.  There s also a cluster of watch shops like Radium watch smtg at the top fl of Central World, I got the exact same offer from them.

It is Bob! He´s back, looking for ways to finance his stay in Thailand.

Dealers will give you substantially less than market value, as others have pointed out above.

I would check the approximate value and sell privately via the Facebook groups such as Rolex Kuru.

Hello,
I have a Rolex watch that I’m considering selling and I’m looking for reliable shops or dealers in Bangkok who purchase Rolex watches. Can anyone suggest some reputable places or share their experiences with selling Rolex watches in the area?

Thank you for your help!

Can I ask what model and year?

Insure it.

Rent a modest hotel room.

Pick a dodgy partner at a a bar. (Ladyboys increase success)

Get drunk

Take her to your room.

Pass out or be careless.

In the morning when you find it missing make a police report

File an insurance claim.

Poor advise. Atleast you got your username right.

I sold one four years ago using Facebook. I met the buyer at the Rolex company in Bangkok, where they certified the watch. We did the sale in the lobby afterwards. Make damn sure you are in a safe place. A few years ago someone had their watch stolen from a guy who was looking to buy, in a small hotel in the lobby. Have some backup people standing nearby.
