Exactly. It was the wife's fault, of course. And those devilish kids. MORE victimization of a privileged member of the Commonwealth.

Correct,if you go back far enough there is bound to be some British blood in there to blame it on.

Like those old men salivating over and bribing young women. Quality.

At least the protagonist is 38 and with a family, as opposed to being a mere sex tourist..

The sex tourists seem to behave better and create less problems than this goofball!

Poor family.. I feel pity for the Children and Wife. 🙏

Pattaya does attack quality foreigners.

I dont know about just as stupid, seems very normal behavior for most of the Aussies I see around town.

So sad that God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

We are being warned about women as well. Darn. And appears that we cannot even say 'God help us' with this last warning.... 🙂

More shock stories to make the 99 percent feel ashamed to be alive.  'Look at what you people are.. now we have to increase police surveillance.'

Yeah, reminds of what Bill Burr once said about the news.

My friend lives in the same village. Crazy guy was awake for 3 days because he was smoking ice and other ocassions he was awake for days. The home owner is his dad's ex-wife.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Life savings gambled away, personal possessions stolen, etc.

Loads of reasons that would make a man go berserk.

We have to realise that many Thais use the words bipolar to describe Westerners that become increasingly hostile and angry with their unreasonable behaviour, often over money.

How do I know? Been there myself.

So? All these issues with foreign men going berserk are entirely due to Thai wife, Thai people & Thailand itself? Would be great if you could describe this in detail, so that people intending to come to Thailand will be fore warned.

I hope, you are not heading down the same path?

It seems like replies hit home

you have to feel sorry for the wife and kids in this story

I have known many foreign men that have been ripped off by Thai women and Thai men with whom they were romantically involved.

Too many stories of knives being used, assaults, police involvement and similar to list here.

Over the years, I have had two friends killed by their Thai wives, one was shot, and his body left in his underwear in the jungle, where he was found days later. Another was killed, and his body burned, again in the jungle. In both cases over money and in both cases the Thai spouses were convicted. They were also from Bangkok, so these were no small village crimes. They people that committed these crimes were close family that they had known for many years.

So yeh, I do know a little bit about this stuff, and when I hear about farangs going bonkers for no good reason I have a tendency to question it.

Thailand is probably not the best place to be a sufferer of psych disorders.

Hope the Thai family members have alternative support.

TBH  You can add any nationality, and yet your statement will be correct - ripped off by _______ women. Majority of Thai families I've come across and observed lead normal lives as any other.

Too many stories of knives being used, assaults, police involvement and similar to list here. - in any country, people getting involved with this type of behavior are the exception.

The issue is, all women working in the bar atmosphere, we cannot say are the normal. Most foreigners find their mates in the bars, as that is the quickest and easiest. So, having trouble later on is nothing unusual, IMHO.

In general, I've found Thai people (compared to some foreigners) to be exceptionally tolerant and very courteous.  It always will depend whom you associate with.

Generalizing all Thai women is not right.

Does Thailand even have psychologists and psychiatrists?      I've never seen an indication of them in any hospital,

might be time to go home - it's obviously not working out in Thailand

A very strange comment. It sounds as though the Aussie needs to be in care. Meantime the cost of the damage he has caused will need to be evaluated, and compensation agreed. It will be complicated given the difficult matter of assessing how far the offender is responsible for his actions.

They do or did in the Thai Government hospitals.
