this is supposedly Bangkok

Yeah it's looks like the one that came down in Chatujak.

Videos of it collapsing are on X.

Terrible, I hope no construction workers would have been in there but there were plenty stood nearby outside so it seems likely.

Yah, I saw that video, those construction workers ran for their lives and were very lucky.

The government says it will happen again at 2.30 pm, so probably not.

One of my girls wanted to break up with me today. I told her "look what you did, Buddha is not happy, you cause earthquake", she reconsidered and joked and laughed, no more break up. Hahahaha.

Yet another idiot trying to make fun of a life losing situation.

Why do people like you post such trash?

Oh  man I just left Chiang Mai airpot for Krabi this morning at 7am. All I'm experiencing here is shirtless farangs, fatties and nasty Russian girls with inflated lips but no earthquake damage yet.

They say that when the Indian Ocean fault let lose and caused the Tsunami in that part of the world 20 years ago (a 9.9 Quake), that quake released only about 1/2 of the pent up movement that is expected, at some point, along that fault line.  I think about that every time I'm  planning a trip down there.

With my luck, I'd be there at exactly the wrong time.

I still go, though.  WTF.  I ride on planes.

we're on alert for Tsunamis right now but haven't heard anything yet. We're right off the coast now, less than 100m to the water.

You have really outdone yourself this time.

I've sent an email to my old school in Mandalay to see if everyone is OK

No reply yet...

I'm so sorry to hear that, hopefully they managed to escape the buildings. Mandalay seems to be the center of the quake.

Different fault. Different outcome.

I live near a fault that they say is due.  I could loose quite a bit of my wealth.   Makes one consider renting rather than owning ones living quarters.

I was in the Loma Prietta quake in 89', that was a long quake.
This one was over 10 sec. easy

Glad you you could break away from your leftist love fest political threads to express your excitement about witnessing someone else’s dire, life threatening situation.

You guys really thrive on other peoples misery.
