When I was supervising an American contractor working for a Pakistani client in what was formerly the Federally Administered Tribal Areas in northwest Pakistan, my security was paramount and for my daily field trips I was urged to keep a low profile and don't attract attention like wearing a baseball cap. For their part, the client provided me with a brand-new white Land Rover, two armed, uniformed Pakistani militia guards... and an obnoxious Baluchi driver. Talk about a target? Stuck out like the proverbial dog's balls!

I visited the base camp of a Chinese contractor working for the same client in the area, and I noted that all the staff, Chinese and locals alike, were dressed like locals. So I stopped using the Landy and armed guards, got shot of the Baluchi driver, dressed like a Pashtun (without the AK-47 of course) and travelled around safely in the back of a Toyota pickup for my two months.

When I worked in Sagaing region of northwest Myanmar back around 2018, I used 125 cc motorbikes to get around the dirt roads, same as the locals, and carried a square-tipped machete in a plywood sheath strapped to my hip under my pahkahmah, like the locals.

My advice to the OP is dress like a local, blend in and don't mess with any flags.

And don't be tempted to buy Kevlar here either, as the Thai authorities classify it as a war weapon. If they find it, you will be arrested.

Good luck on your Myanmar re-adventures.

Unfortunately, it is the locals that the soldiers like to shoot without reason 😞. Neither side has any disagreement with a foreigner, so a white face and flag is a better option.  (Were I in Pakistan or Afghanistan etc, then your advice would be sound!).

Good point, well made. Do you want to borrow my Pashtun kit?

UK Flags available on Lazada

Yes, I got mine mail order when I was annoying my neighbours. I would get a few as they seemed not durable flapping in the breeze.

Thanks!  I found some UK flags in the shop opposite Tony's Gym 🙂

I also bought some lady's woolly tights there because (again from experience), I know that riding a motorbike in Shan State can get bloody cold in the mornings 🙂

Just so you know in future, shipping from China is bigly fast.

I ordered a kickstand for my bicycle at midnight on August 9th.

Arrived today, Aug 14, at noon.

From warehouse in China, thru airport customs, to Thailand, thru customs, sorted and delivered to rice fields an hour outside of Korat in 108 hours.

Delivery fee 38 baht.

Free returns if I change my mind.

No VAT, no tariffs.

Yup, the U.K. is quickly becoming the hub of “ party poopers “ where any hint of a laugh, or even a smile, is frowned upon !!

Not like back in our day Andrew back in the 90s, it was the hub of “party pill poppers” and everyone was smiling.

Yeah, my last shipment from China seemed much improved too! I had complained a few times.

Try the Marina.

I call complete BS on this!

Did you consider to wear a full body suit with the right colours?

I think a flag alone is not enough🥳

Speaking of flags or emblems, there is an interview with a US special forces guy on YouTube where he says a bunch of his Delta Force guys were in the mess/canteen and a bunch of SAS/SBS guys walked in and they had US flags stuck to their Velcro uniform patches.  One US guy said "Whats with the US flags" and a Brit answered "Well they've got to blame it on someone" 555

I would be embarrassed to have a Union Jack anywhere near me, never mind on my motorbike although I do see the OP's reason for wanting one.

That says a lot more about you than the Union Jack.

Explain please, don't you know any of the history of what the Union Jack stands for? The old British Empire. Genocide in India by ordered by Churchill etc, etc, etc.

Check a MG store, maybe they have something.

When we bought our mg/gs there was a british flag on bouth sides where we put registration number.

Actually we removed it at gave to british friend 🙂

Rainbow flags are so 2024.

But it would go beautifully with his pink Honda Scoopy.

You had a Burmese driver in a 4x4 like everyone else!

Is that legal? No.

You should google it.      Can I fly my UK flag in Thailand?

Myth.

Myth.

So Churchill was not involved with any killings under the old British Empire? I suppose he was not also responsible for the Black and Tans being sent to commit havoc in Ireland only to be sent scurrying back to England by Michael Collins in 1920 during the Irish war of independence.

The public waving or hoisting of foreign flags is strictly regulated and generally prohibited in Thailand.

Reading is yours.  The OP wants it for Myanmar, not Pattaya.
