A 45-year-old unnamed, American man was seriously injured after jumping from the second floor of a condominium in Soi Thappraya 7, Pattaya, at 08.16 on 19 November 2025. Emergency responders from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre arrived quickly after receiving reports of a person who had fallen from height. The man was found with a vacant stare, incoherent speech and injuries to his leg and chest before being stabilised and taken to hospital.

Residents gathered to watch as rescue workers provided initial treatment at the scene. Staff from the condominium attempted to stop reporters from recording the incident and ordered them to leave the premises immediately. The incident reportedly occurred from the rear balcony of a second-floor unit.

According to Ms A, an 18-year-old friend of the man’s former partner, the American had allegedly taken ketamine before the incident. She said he became highly agitated and shouted loudly shortly before jumping from the condo. She alerted authorities immediately after witnessing the incident.

Police officers conducted an inspection of the man’s room following the rescue. Inside, they reportedly found cannabis and zip-lock sachets containing a substance believed to be illegal drugs. The items were collected as evidence and will be examined further as part of the investigation.

Police are now working to verify the nature of the substances found in the room and to determine whether any charges will follow. Investigators from the local police station’s investigation unit are expected to expand inquiries into the man’s activities prior to the incident.

Add to that 'mentality' the use of strong drugs = recipe for disaster.

Only 45 and already basically 'screwed' - what a waste.

I used to take it when I was teen. We'd just lie down the coach close your eyes and listen to music like Deuter. It was like flying through space on a roller coaster. The last thing I wanted to do was get up and run around so I wonder if he was doing other things as well or it was not pure.

Yep, but to do it right, he should have chosen floor 5 or up.

The damned drugs again.

Of course cannabis is in there.

Nobody does these kinds of things on just a coupla beers, a far safer drug.

Are they talking a UK or a US 2nd floor.

A US 2nd floor on that building is only what, 5 metres at most. There are bigger bottom-steps than that in Thailand. :coffee1:

Looks like Arcadia Beach Continental.

Their 1st floor is ground floor, therefore second floor drop only 3 metres.

The guy must have landed on his head.

Yep, covered in tatoos and high on drugs. There's no hope for this lad.

When life is that bad, that even tattoos and ketamine all fail to spice it up, there must be a better way to put an end to it....

Well it will when the Ketamine wears off?:whistling:

If you are 45 years old and still haven't grown a brain ...stay home, lock the door

Brought to mind this song... "One way out baby, but I just can't go out that door... cuz there's a man down there... may be your man, I don't know"... but dang, just self inflicted with drugs... what's become of this place?

I'm an occasional cannabis user but think the honeymoon period is over.  Like any other drug, it is usually not good if used without control.  So many users that are wasted individuals that wing on about how good it is compared to alcohol while they are stoned.  They have convinced themselves that being pasted to their couches high is healthy.  It is an escape from the reality of their less than stellar existence.

As for this guy, don't think cannabis was the reason he jumped.  Maybe the prolonged chronic use and pathetic life he was living because of it...
