let me ask you which do you think is more readable? NO MATTER WHAT YOUR AGE. And what happened to the time and date the topic was started? Thanks.

these screen grabs were taken from a 4k display. so i am not talking about the slight loss of resolution in these graphics. I am talking about font size, font type, color.

Anyone with eyesight would choose the bottom picture , with black text.

It's harder to read in blue , if it was easier with blue, why is the text in newspapers still printed in black ???

When I read an e-book on my tablet the letters are in black and I can zoom in.

Get rid of the blue , what is the fuxxing point ?

As he said keep the comments constructive or don't bother. Refraining from posting if you have nothing to add is actually ideal at this point.

Not everybody understands the concept of 'gagging order'.

Clearly the second one with the bolder blacker font is  more readable....

I don't feel I'm that old but on my 1366by768 screen, the text is unreadable and seem to be widened horizontally, resizing the window doesn't help

If you use Chrome, go to "View -> Zoom in" so that you can set the text size for your liking.

I think they keep the Old Ford Mechanic on a retainer, and wake him up now n then.

But why the Durian?

????

No idea but I do prefer the new logo to the old one which was very dated an amateurish.

Dislike the boxes around the emojis. Notification strapline that pops up at the bottom of the screen, still unreadable. And, of course the posted text.

It would be simplicity itself to return this text to the original font and size. However, I suspect that the techies forgot to make a note of the original font before making the changes.

If anyone knows what the original font and size were, I suggest that they post the information here, I'm sure that the techies would be very grateful.

Overall, I think that the new look is an improvement, the pages seem to load more quickly.

Good work techies, but work in progress. Crack on!

Normally if u make site changes u test it first.

since the newsletters now became unreadable due to small size letters on my smartphone it means it never was tested first.

I think that might depend upon the app you are using for your email.

As far as I know there have been no changes to the format of the newsletters. They only changed the logo from what I can see.

I went back through my trash folder and compared the newsletters and the look the same.

...and it's next to impossible to distinguish between regular and bold styling. (This sentence is in bold, can you notice?)...

I am reading this in the mobile Chrome browser on the phone and I see a very distinct difference between normal and bold font.

In my opinion, the most pressing important functional improvement would be :

Option to access the whole thread as 1 continuous stream on 1 page ?

Thus,- u could scroll down through the whole thread instead of having to click accordingly into :

each page

or

pages

But, alas ...   ????

Not really practical as some threads have over 100 pages (like this one) with the latest post on the last page. That's a lot of scrolling.

Them notifications on bottom of the page, which says

Has font colour problem. I suppose there is 'click here' after 'replied', but it's not visible. If I hover over to the space after 'replied', I can click the link.

There features so many worthy posts in many threads that the smart keen reader of such a thread would be the better often to extract those posts as a series & paste into MS Word or the like.

Can be done, & no doubt is done everyday by many the appreciating reader accordingly, with present limited forum ;

But, said function would be a major-major improvement to this forum.

Examples of Benefit :

It would also be of major help for prospective creators of new query-threads whereby they initially research if satisfactory prospects of answers have been proffered prior in this forum ;

And, another benefit will ipso facto result from that benefit ;

vis.

less occurrence of annoyance to those posters who moan that certain topics have been dealt with before.

@Our Man in the Tropics

UI studies have proven time and again that infinite scrolling is a bad idea.

UI studies have also shown fonts with wide letter-spacing and glyphs (like this one) are terrible for readability of large bodies of text, which I think is a more pressing issue.
