I check US government site and it says level 4 warning--do not travel, most countries on lockdown.

If you followed State Department warning almost nobody would travel anywhere under normal conditions.

Look at the warning for Mali. It is almost comical. The say you should leave DNA samples with relatives.

My partners and sons return flight to Thailand with B.A. on the 12th of May has been cancelled no voucher as part of the journey has been completed. A refund I would receive 50% of the original return fare nowhere near what it would cost for s single.

Can you explain that a little more please? Were these flights Thailand-UK-Thailand and the only portion that's been used is the Thailand - UK?

My partners and sons flights were Thailand - U.K. and only the Thailand - U.K. portion has been used.

Received this today Sunday April 26 2020 from an airline showing restrictions.

Safari - 26 Apr 2020 19:19.pdf 201.17 kB · 18 downloads

That information is outdated. Don't wait for your embassy to send you information that is five days old. Go directly to the source for updated information:

Work permit holders are also no longer permitted.  The latest rules for getting on a plane are:

Flights to Thailand are suspended.
- This does not apply to state or military aircraft, emergency landing, technical landing without disembarkation, humanitarian aid, medical, relief and repatriation flights.

That restriction lasts until 30/4.  I am booked on a flight to arrive 1/5.  We shall see if it goes ahead.

Unless you are Thai: No

Afaik even Thais have to be pre approved

In fact Thai folks abroad have to take their documents to the local Thai consulate or embassy abroad and get them countersigned, before going to the departure airport. And must state 'fit to fly'.

And don't forget you need a medical report / Covid 19 test results on a laboratory report to check-in and on arrival and on't forget the compulsory 14 day quarantine on arrival.

OK, I understand now. As you may know, if the flights had begun in the UK i.e. UK-Thailand-UK, you would be entitled to a full refund by law.
