  • Good, lockdown is needed and immediately.

  • Maybe all those farang idiots I see regularly in Big C, walking around without a mask over their faces, will start to conform.   Sticking it under your chin doesn't count.

Very bad news. Numbers are up again to 250 nationwide, which is the worst number ever. I see things getting increasingly messy from here on in.

Sorry I must have mis-read this from the offical post

According to an order issued on Wednesday, all shopping malls are to close in a bid to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Lost in translation then. Obviously not fully closed if some essential businesses within the malls are left open. As before.

I've just seen signs up in a local 7 that they will close at 2200 tonight, so that would indicate yes.  Bars across the road were still open though.

Not for long I fear ????

Friend who owns a bar just messaged me. 6pm today everything shut

You are still free to move from province to province but in Chonburi, where there are very few cases, you can't go out for a meal, a drink, and kids are locked out again. Covid only strikes 7/11 and Family mart between 22.00 - 05.00? Pathetic

Sods law...........rather than drink drive tomorrow night ive just booked a room in the Areca Lodge...........will have to try and cancel , paid up front for it by CC

Looks like money down the drain.....no refund within 24 hours of arrival

They will still be open I guess.  Usually in these places they shut the doors for guests and function as usual.

Well you can, you simply have to consume it elsewhere. You can let the kids back in anytime.

Take away only

Well in the food courts  that was the mo, so no change then. But does not seem sensible.

the beach = open air + strong UV & healthy air is again forbidden... BASED ON WHAT SCIENCE ???

Unfortunately based on the fact that when everything else is closed Thais tend

to go in mass on the beach to gather in groups for eat and drink together with

no masks and no social distancing, particularly at night time

Exactly, and they seemed unwilling to break them up or challenge them, so a simple beach ban came about.

Any idea why phone shops should remail open as not necessary ?

Inane comment.

Lockdown on 7-11s from 2200 to 0500, leaving them OPEN ALL DAY LONG is in contention for the most ridiculous order of the whole lockdown fiasco!

Oh no, should have gone earlier this week. Now the TGF will be giving me a coconut look with the Wahl clippers.

Will we be able to judge the lock-down's success and hopefully eradication of covid, by the high percentage of women with unruly hair?

Perhaps also to top up their mobiles (pre-paid), replace chargers etc.

you can do that online

not always.  my CC sometimes won't take and I have to go to shop to get credits filled.

although now just do that once a year over lazada for total of 1300 baht for unlimited 10mbps

I'll guess - alcohol sales. Stock up if you can't live without it.

Of course! The dreaded alcohol ban!

The conspiracy theorist's wet dream rears its ugly head once again.

And those little slot machines in front of the 7-11.

Start the precautionary measures early and hope it doesn't get continually extended - obviously dependant on rising numbers or a slow down.

It's what most countries around the world have implemented already, therefore, it isn't a shock it would have happened in Thailand again.

I suppose the only other thing not (YET) affected is airport closures for international travel. See what happens on that one.

Current problems did not come from that direction so I remain optimistic. Mind you I was wrong about this lockdown and the previous booze ban!

Anyone ever question the hygiene of the delivery people and better yet, how often are they tested?

That will come I'm sure.

You can test their hygiene yourself, just smell their armpits

As for COVID tests, you can't even get one if you have COVID

Because they don't manifest large gathering of people but do support essential communications
