Doesn’t matter who reported it first or whatever - I just love the guys who make suggestions in this thread, it’s a treasure trove - if it wasn’t for this thread I would never have seen Gomorrah or Trapped.

Hell, 15 years back we used to live in a tiny apartment in BKK and all we had was one English channel that used to play law and order with Ice-T on repeat. Scratching around panthip for movies that weren’t cam / screeners. “Good copy?” Oh yes, good copy - was it ever?

We had the internet but it was deathly slow, and downloading torrents was pretty painful almost impossible - a long way away from what we have now.

You are right however I found in Thailand if there is enough people living in an area an industry will develop in it that will provide for all your needs.  In the early 80's I was living with 2 girls in an apartment in Suan Plu near the old Imm Office.  Sometimes the girls used to like to rent a few movies and have a night in.  Initially I was puzzled because they didnt have a TV set let alone a video machine??  However, on the ground floor was a "VDO" shop (which I first thought was some kind of clinic lol) where the girls would select a few movies (VHS back then), pay at the counter, and then return to the room.  10 minutes later a couple of young guys would turn up at the door with a video machine and TV, set it all up and leave it for however many hours we wanted it.  2 or 3 oclock in the morning they would come back, pack it all up and return it to the shop.  Marvelous service!

Thanks for the tip, I can find much more by searching outside of Thaivisa and adding Thaivisa as a keyword, as you suggested. My preferred search engine is duckduckgo, and that does find references to Mr Inbetween. Much better than the internal Thaivisa search function.

I was pleasantly surprised by this film, maybe I've adjusted my expectations downwards because the pre-Phase 4 TV shows?

 

Awesome cast with Ray Winstone, David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh.

 

Post-credit scene was interesting.

Have you seen the photo they put for Ray Winstone ?  where did they get that from, his school album---I haven't been back to UK for about 6-7 years but he was doing TV advertising for the betting  shops----look about 20 years older then that photo then--- Hope he doesn't put that one on a dating site....Like his acting through----"Sexy Beast", one of the best movies I have seen.

He was in minder too. He went to the Anna Scherl school in the East end and got the BB role from the theater actor who was p!ssed off....but Ray made his name, with 'who's your daddy?' and a loaded sock, can act, and did only one bad movie. Minder. I wrote a few lines for him once in 79 I think based on a BM house invasion. 12 quid an hour basic equity rate.

I watched The Town (2010) IMdb 7.5/10 for the first time last night.

 

Not a bad movie though not a great movie maybe coz it's star, director and its screenplay writer was Ben Affleck.

 

Great car chase.
