Daily News reported that more and more people were receiving online goods cash on delivery that they had never ordered.

Usually people receive things at home and some don't accept because they remember clearly they had not ordered the item.

But that is not what happened to one female teacher who went on Facebook to explain why she "screamed out loud" in her classroom.

"Fon" said the delivery company had called to say she was to receive a package that she would need to pay 198 baht for, Daily News reported.

She said deliver it to the school - she was busy with teaching but couldn't actually remember ordering anything.

Still, she accepted it and paid then opened the package in class.

It was a sex toy.

Fon was all flustered, she said, her hands and legs were all atremble and she had to sit down before consulting a trusted colleague who suggested looking at the name of the sender.

There was none on the packaging so she contacted the delivery firm who put her in touch with the sender who told Fon she had been scammed by someone who had got her personal data.

They said it was happening to hundreds of people and many of them were getting sex toys through the post.

She vowed never to accept packages she was unsure about again and went to the police to file a report.

Was that after she had tried the goods? ....

Sounds like she was set up by a former boyfriend or lover, or even as a joke gift.   A co-worker of mine had a gift box delivered to our office by an unknown person and upon opening it found a dead rat wrapped in underwear.  I never accept anything that I have no idea what it is, or who it is from.  If a delivery person wont to take it back they are free to do with it what they want as I wont pay for it.

maybe it was the power unit for her Ben Wa balls, and upon opening the box it started to work instantaneously.

Not sure if I am in my right mind, but I accept things all the time. I get packages a few times every day. Often my family are out, so I just pay.

The sender must have been the seller so the sender/seller must be the scammer.  The seller is the one who gets the money unless it was a bogus delivery firm taking the cash but, if that was the case, how would the courier be able to put the 'buyer' in touch with the sender (the seller)?

Perhaps she should have just asked the seller, with whom she was put in touch, for a refund.

Better than the 'parcel' my wife received when a kid in Y10, known as Richard the ........, left her something!!

same here, it is unusual for a day to not have any deliveries
this issue is common and we have had it ourselves about 3 times,
always items under 200 baht so you just dont care about returning it etc
unless you order very very few items, its a hassle to look up the delivery and confirm its for you etc
when anyone in family could have ordered it in past month
easier to just pay so the driver can be on their way, it only 200 baht
obviously larger value items you will be sure about easily

Hey, i lost similar package in the mail recently.. could it be where it ended up ey? now who do i see about return  it to it's rightful owners?...

Long time ago I did send such a toy to a friend in Thailand. It was stopped at customs through xRay control. Friend was told to pay a fine which she avoided by refusing the item, saying she hadn't ordered it. So my question is, how do all those sex toys make it into Thailand ? Had a look at Lazada lately ?

In anticipation?

Seems like a scam . Scammers are knowing most people would be too embarrassed to make a complaint . Scammers make a sale
