There are also news stories of foreigners helping to clean up their environment etc 

The real problem....is entitlement. A certain demographic have always felt entitled and the feeling of losing that privilege and being treated the same as everyone else feels like discrimination.

For those of us who came to Thailand and treated the Thai people like family from the beginning, there is no harassment.
