non- issue. keep your fake socialist group “caring” virtue signalling.

you all care only about your interests & thats natural & fine......

and the incessant moaning about reality here... sheesh. “we arent in kansas any more dorothy”.....

Anyway AZ 1st jabs for non -WP farangs starts tomorrow, depending on area.

my appt (supposedly) on saturday one mile away.....we’ll see.... step by step

wont be bitching here if not received.....

Moderna will be individually available or not. 5 or 10 mill jabs, what does it matter to you ?

no interest in millions of jabs group, only me & loved ones.

“other folk is just strangers” and can look after themselves

aint nobody looking out for me except me....unless paid of course...

no NHS or western std. institutions here & you knew that didnt you....?

also that decision to live “up country”, knowing all services reduced, not looking too clever now then......

Big surprise yet another fark up and they insist on promising to to open up and do the right thing.

Thailand need new people in charge, full stop. My only concern is does Thailand have any "right" people for the job

So thousands of Thai nationals who live in western countries get western vaccines for free.  But Expats here have limited options.  Amazing Thailand.

Well I guess Luang was correct all along that the shots would be availiable later this year. Never question the man in charge he is always right

So the government didn’t order enough vaccine who would’ve guessed that amazing Thailand TIT

Generals run armies. Not so good with running countries exept into the ground. This buffoon is doing just this through the greatest crisis to hit modern civil society in peacetime. He is a fool and needs to go. Big problem for Thailand is most of the time a fool replaces the fool.

In amongst all this is the enormous elephant in the room... What has happened to the AstraZaneca deal? This was to be the way out for Thailand, 61 million shots this year, manufacturing their own supply. The question has to be put to AstraZaneca themselves...where the heck is the  vaccine you licensed the lab to produce? Can't blame the lab if AZ saw fit to licence them.

Obviously the UK is not a normal country,  the test and trace system is a £37 billion failure and the inevitable dismissals are notable by their absence.

Your so called "vaccine fiasco" pales into insignificance compared to the covid "highlights" in some other countries.

The UK has vaccinated 70pc of its population starting a year ago regardless of socio economic standing. Thailand 3pc mainly HiSos Military Government Officials with a few in kitty litter locations and local hotspots. Test and track combined with DNA variant IDing is the best in the world in the UK. Vaccine fiasco is a generous description of what is happening in Thailand. Pattaya Memorial cancelling their Moderna program is clearly because they have no chance of obtaining the vaccine in October due to government interference. The Private Hospitals Association should be given the green light to obtain 90m vaccines asap free from government interference. Thailand does not have an NHS to dig them out of the hole they are in.

Nothing short of shambolic by this unelected regime.

The Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO) admitted that only 5 million doses of ModernaCovid-19 vaccine would be available!

What a bloody disgrace. You had months and months to order them but someone <deleted>!

Sack someone in charge and let the private hospital association order there own!

Yes, you're right on the above point. The OP article seems a bit misleading on that point.

However, I was more alarmed/concerned to see them both 1.) muddling more about the potential price for the future shots after supposedly settling the price two different times before, and 2.) again admitting that they still don't as yet have a legal contract agreement for the Moderna vaccines in question.

Talk is cheap, and often meaningless, in Thailand, as the Moderna and broader vaccines debacle is again proving. And after all this time, what do we hear today:

"Dr Withoon said that negotiations with Zuellig Pharma were ongoing and a "Supply Agreement" would be ratified by attorneys in August."

They've been talking about and to Moderna now for MANY months... Just how long should it take to actually execute a real supply agreement that allows for the setting of real, concrete prices and delivery dates?

Back in 2011 when a lot of people in Bangkok were suffering from the floods some Govt officials came to see a mate of mine who worked for a large English pump firm.  They started out wanting to know if they could get a free "business' trip to the Uk if they ordered these huge pumps.......refused.  They kept coming back for months hinting at perks and kickbacks but ......refused.  All the while the locals were suffering from the floods but these guys could not give in to doing a 'straight' deal until eventually the problem just drained away naturally.

???? 3800baht when there where 10milj i geuss now will be 7600 only having half that .

Surely that's for the folks who change their minds because they have already obtained the vaccine elsewhere.   It's not 'we're not going to vaccinate you AND we're not going to return your money.'

From what I read the government has forced the private hospitals to donate 2m of the 5m shots of Moderna to the Thai Red Cross.

I booked Moderna with THG but they have questionnaire asking if you have had a government shot now.  If you say yes, they say you shouldn't book this vaccine because you need to wait 6 months after the 2nd government shot. So it would have been better not to tell them but too late.

perhaps there is a danger to yourself?

He stressed that the GPO were not in charge of the import but were acting as the official go between.

Private hospitals have to go through the GPO to get the other vaccines.  If the GPO isn't responsible, who is?  The hospitals certainly don't need them to pass along pricing unless it's to skim the top.  What a cluster <deleted>.

Fortunately I viewed the original announcement with well-deserved skepticism and decided to wait until late this year to even attempt registration. I think we've all learned how this sh*tshow rolls by now.

A public execution of one or more governmental officials might help to restore confidence, or not. At any rate it would be gratuitously entertaining.

BTW, the 50% deposit requirement certainly indicates that they hospitals are getting it considerably cheaper than what they're charging. Capitalism at work.

Me & the good wife had 1st jabs A-Z....2nd due on 15 August,(daughter's friend) "frontline worker's & direct family for free"

I agree, Thailand is getting unfair bashing from many on this forum.. Also, look at Japan, a total disaster and they are a developed country with the Olympics supposedly happening this year, and last.

This sounds just like an opinion from a TVF self appointed expert.

The recent House of Commons Public Accounts Committee Report illuminates the absurd cost and failures of the NHS Test and Trace service. [1,2] It seems that the UK government is set to continue the scandal of commissioning Serco and other private companies to run the test and trace service. £37bn of taxpayers money is being given to this servicethe figures are almost too large to comprehend. [3] To help, consider that the total annual NHS salary cost is around £47 billion, which amounted to 44.9% of the NHS budget in 2018/19. [4] A 5% pay increase for the whole of England’s NHS staff, as opposed to the 1% on offer to nurses, would cost only £1.7bn. [5] So, what is going on? Is it just incompetence? It is hard to believe that there is not an element of corruption with such large amounts of money disappearing to “consultants” or private companies. We must see open and transparent accounting immediately.

Dismissals? In "normal" countries there would be a special prosecutor appointed to bring those responsible to justice with a grand jury, indictments, and prosecution. I'm aware of Hanlon's razor - the adage that recommends never attributing to malice that which can more easily be explained by stupidity. But we're WAY beyond stupidity now. This is entering criminal gross negligence territory. PEOPLE ARE DYING.

You, the Deputy PM wearing the 22 Rolex watches on your arm, do I hear 50,000?  Oh wait, that was the gentleman with six bodyguards and a armored car outside waiting to return to Thonglor.

Another day, another lie. I am convinced now that the only vaccines you will see in 2021 is both Chinese vaccines and AZ and that's it .

Could the reason be that the people in the regim not yet have find out how they  are going to make the most money for them self in this disaster?

My quest for a  vaccine with a strong efficacy rating has left me frustrated and disappointed ! Why do I feel like this is all a conspiracy to promote and disseminate the chosen vaccines by the controlling forces of....

I started out by wanting the AZ vaccine  but then they changed to administering the  second shot  from 12 to 16 weeks . I passed on that cause it was the same time the that the role out of the M vacc would start !

During that time I also was informed that the local private up here in Sakon Nakhon was offering to get on the list for a nonrefundable 4k M vacc.,which I passed on.

I inquired at another Private in Udon Thaini if they would be offering  the M vacc and they said they would put me on the call back list when they get a better understanding of whether they can procure it! Ten days later I called for a status on it and the CSR told me I needed to send her my personnel info and a refundable deposit  ,so I did ! The quoted 2 shot was 3.8K with a undetermine  Dr.fee.

Wow  what a change of events ! Well , fingers crossed for getting on their list early !

So despite everything they have been saying they still do not have an official agreement for anything.

Without a doubt the Thai Government are waiting for free vaccines donated by the west for 'Poorer Countries' of which Thailand is one. Maybe the British Embassy will do what the French Embassy has done which is ordered J&J vaccine for all French people in Thailand. We cannot rely on the Thai government to take care of us. They have proven otherwise.
