Thailand on Saturday (July 10) reported 9,326 new COVID-19 cases and 91 additional deaths over the past 24 hours.

● 9,134 new infections

● 192 prison / prison infections

Saturday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 326,832 with 2,625 deaths.

(Total infections since April 1: 297,969)

The news comes as Thailand announced tighter restrictions in the capital Bangkok and nine provinces on Friday in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus, including travel curbs, mall closures, a curfew and limits on the size of gatherings.

since the delta variant will soon be dominant, they will have to call it the 4th wave, with the 3rd wave caused by the alpha mutation fizzling out.

Say 3-4 months for the 4th wave, starting about now

I get confused.... if one looks at the plot of new infections for the UK, it appears they are currently in a 4th wave, certainly when one looks at peaks.

Wont be long before the UK puts the red light on Thailand making it very expensive and difficult to travel between the two countries with double quarantines

All the more likely, I would have thought, given that the rules on travel between the UK and amber list countries like Thailand at the present time are due to be eased from 19 July:-

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/quarantine-free-travel-to-resume-on-19-july-for-fully-vaccinated-passengers-returning-from-amber-list-countries

Not sure when the next review of UK red, amber and green list countries is due to take place (supposedly every 3 weeks, I gather).
