The Royal Thai Police have clarified what happened at a road rage incident caught on tape near the On Nut intersection in the Prawet district of Bangkok.

A man was seen getting out of a red plate pick-up and climbing onto the roof of a Civid with what resembled a sword.

Another man had a gun.

The two cars had been in a barging match and then the pick-up forced the other to stop and caused an accident.

Sanook quoted Lt-Col Charin Im-em of the Prawet police as saying that the man with the gun was Sen Sgt Maj Adisorn, 44, a policeman with a force in Samut Prakan.

The man who climbed on top of the Civic was Chakrin, 38, who the policeman employed at a fish farm.

Both drivers were charged with driving offences and Chakrin was charged with assault and criminal damage.

The Civic had refused to stop after a scrape resulting in the incident escalating.

Chakrin tested positive for Covid before getting to the police station.

You should never flee the scene of an accident, even a 'scrape' but this Somchaimobile has red plates and blacked out windows, and (one would presume) an aggressive driver and thugs in the exposed rear. I don't blame the Civic/Civid ???? driver for wanting to get away.

As for the cop and his employee's behaviour, they both need to be sent to jail FOR A LONG TIME.

Such a professional police force. Thailand must be so proud of thugs like this.

Can be called many things but it is NOT an accident!

They won't be going anywhere apart from maybe another Police Station upcountry; this will be a laughing matter in the Mess Room settled with Wai's and a few hundred Baht.   These Morons have no scruples or pride in their profession, they are just Gangsters in Uniform.

The smaller the brain, the bigger the car. Somchai on a revenge.

Do they now test traffic offenders for Covid or is it just because he is going to the police station and they don't want the virus there? If that is the case, then many other places should be testing. I have a dentist appointment next week. Will everyone be tested before entering?

If you want to see thugs, have a look at some of the US bullies with badges getting owned on YouTube. Police bullies and thugs aren't restricted to Thailand.

Ahh, not weapons - fishing equipment!

Moved to an inactive post for a couple of months then back in the game.

His biggest issue will be affording the truck payments while he is in the doghouse.

More of the usual.

Lock them both up. Especially the one pretending to be a law enforcement officer. We all know he is simply a local franchisee. But, at least maintain some appearances, will you?

A ten year sentence might shake some sense into them both. And I am sure the cop would be able to make alot of good friends in prison, where he would be able to get the TLC he likely did not get growing up.

They've even managed to get Covid into a totally unrelated story like this... :saai:

What?  Why would you assume that there was "an aggressive driver and thugs in the pickup" that clearly had no one in the exposed back?   The Civic, along with most cars on Thai roads, had window tints, not knowing anything about the earlier collision how come you didn't assume that there was an aggressive driver and thugs in that car also?

"And the policeman charged with????"

Driving offences, as the OP stated.  What else would he be charged with?   It's safe to assume that the officer probably has the gun legally and, from the video, there's no evidence of his committing any other offence is there?

Never ceases to amaze me how extremely hard working the Thai police are.  Its well known that Thai police earn only a pittance and yet they always seem to have all these businesses on the side.  Just determination and hard work I guess, what else could it be??

You must have watched a different video to the one I saw then.

I'm PRESUMING that the Civic didn't have thugs, weapons and off-duty cops on board.

Looking this and your other replies I feel you're in a grumpy mood today.

Hertha was only a friendly. ????????????

I understand that but I was asking why you'd assume that and why you'd assume that a red-plated pickup would have an aggressive driver and thugs in the back?

I don't get you at all...

It was a traffic offence/altercation, so why would the policeman walk around in public with a gun in his hand... when obviously off-duty in a private vehicle????

So he just gets driving offences?

No word on Adisorn, yet.
A slap on the hand?
