That Lazy Susan on the table must be handy for sharing meals I assume?

That’s for allocating cash…probably donated from a Chinese businessman.

really.  They do provide commissions on siezures?  That is never  a good thing as it easily leads to over zealousness and improper things.  Many court cases in the USA have happened where the cops just assumed the worst and confiscated things.  People leaving Vegas for example have been stopped and cash siezed.  Many months later the people had to sue to get the money back, but then signed non disclosures and promises to not sue in order t get the cash back, instead of being allowed to sue the police.   And many more cases of confiscations of goods and property when people were innocent

Cops in the US have seized homes and put grandmothers out in the streets by claiming the home was used for drug dealing grandkids, even without proof. But in the case of guns, well if it's a white guy he'll get his guns back in 30 days or less.

So despite having all that money it still wasn’t enough

It never is. I find if you work hard to earn ones wealth, it is not spent haphazardly.

Whereas people like big joe here have large spending habits. Odds are he has quite a few girlfriends, booze, drugs, nite-life, etc.

I am sure he had a bigger lazy susan in his office when he was negotiating deals.

I think many other officials are also involved, not only him. Luckily this was in the middle of a pandemic; otherwise he would've already caught a flight out of Thailand.

He will be reassigned for a few months then back in the job after the fuss dies down. No top cop is going to rock the boat or they lose their Lamborghinis.

Iwonder how he managed to get across the border?

Blame the organization which provides a 40% commission incentive to police personally on funds and items confiscated in drug busts. How can you expect to maintain an honest police force and justice in these conditions?

They still owe him 400 million baht.

Here's a question - do you think he lined up at a proper checkpoint to get his passport stamped as he exited?

I wonder if he has a little black book with interesting names that would rather remain in the dark?

And participate in entry exams which are obviously, to anybody with half a brain, rigged.

Indeed, this will be interesting, obvious he was framed, he may need some counselling after this shock.

A holiday on the beach front way down south may get him back to his old self.

Now that you got him.  Confiscate everything from all of them then auction it off take him into a private room save the cost and drama which we will in a few weeks never know or end up like the red bull guy and put a bag over his face one by one and death certificate noted " die from stupidity ".

Most shocking quotes from surreal press conference with killer-cop

Last night, the head of the Royal Thai Police Suwat Jangyodsuk shocked the nation when he allowed former cop and a murder suspect Pol Col Thitisant “Joe Ferrari” Uttanapol to address the nation in a nationally televised press conference.

The Lazy Susan has a non-slip surface for Small and Large Envelopes.

Some sort of high level 'deal' has been done here and he has been 'invited' to hand himself in on the promise that everything will be sorted.   No doubt it will cost him a lot of dosh; most likely he will give up what is still owed to him to favour others in the ring but hey, what you haven't had you won't miss eh !

Surreal indeed !!

The Head of the Royal Police made a , IMO , questionable decision in allowing a murder suspect to address the nation . !!

Has he now set a precedent that all suspects in any criminal case have the opportunity to plead innocence or for leniency in front of TV cameras and the Nation ??

I think not !!

His judgement and reasoning for this decision should be questioned or maybe he should be allowed to state his reasoning for such blatant favouritism !!

Would be interesting to hear why he wants to turn this case into a media circus before it has started ??

How easy to frame somebody! Police look "aha this guy has 3 nice cars, lets make home search and put few yaba pills there", then we can take his cars and get 40% of value to us! Crazy system never heard that kind before!

And it happens frequently!

The arrest contradiction and the unusual media event where he was allowed to talk to the press just smell fishy. Earlier news report that he was arrested in Myawaddy town just across the border from Tal's Mae Sot district. He was hidding in a hideout and was extracted by an arresting team of officers and transported to a safe house. Polar opposite to the OP's news that he surrendered in Chonburi. The manner he was árrested' has bearing on sentencing. Allowing him to speak his version of the crime to the press will influence public perception and court decision.
