So now if these 29 cars are confiscated and sold the cops get 40%. brilliant. I also see another scam running here, I read ages ago that cops can buy a car and not pay purchase tax, his wife sold cars and could make a huge profit if she got them from cops this way. just saying

No, if you look very carefully its been modified with a little red arrow on the top, its spun around so if it points directly to the suspect it indicates "as guily as <deleted>" but if it points to another officer around the table it indicates nothing and the case should be dropped and burried in a pit of paperwork.

Its a very accurate and high tech device invented by a leading Thai scientist.

I should think that if a 'search party's from a country bordering Thailand crossed the border to apprehend an alleged law-breaker the government of that country would react. If Thailand believed that this man had fled the country why did they not issue an Interpol Red notice? Also, why are there so many people so close together in that photo when they are all in mandatory quarantine. How was the Embassy of Thailand in Myanmar able to issue COEs to all these people so quickly. Why have the not all gone to the Phuket Sandbox. Just how much IS that doggy in the window? I would speculate (I have never been a policemen and don't want to imply this across the board) that police sometimes have to pay superiors for promotions and a percent of what they can earn off the books. There may be some who would prefer him to stay quiet. Maybe should introduce him to the Red Bull guys for hints and tips.

Can't match the 100% that American police get for Civil Asset Forfeiture in drug busts.

They are free to spend it within their office as they will.

This practice has of course been brutally abused for many years now as well and many states have now passed laws banning it.

 

At the federal level Homeland security can and sometimes does seize all cash/gold/jewelry in possession of Travelers leaving the country even if they have declared it for being more than $10,000 USD. Homeland Security declares it goods suspected of being used for drug deals. The passenger is given a receipt but usually never recovers the assets without years of battles in court. If the passenger does not declare it, it is seized without recourse. Catch 22.

 

Civil Forfeiture is used too often to seize large amounts of cash from travelers inside the country as well, even vehicles. Again, most of it is never recovered by the owner regardless of never being convicted. America is a country of laws afterall.
