Netizens furious with Anutin: "Maskless" minister holds New Year party after slamming Thai public as "selfish"

Sorry but I do not understand what the fuss is all about.

After all, it is a private party like millions of people in Thailand and abroad organise on a daily basis, and especially for New Year.

I can only speculate that these are family members and very close friends.

Who is who and what was said are irrelevant in that case I guess ( I am only referring to this particular event)

( I do not do, nor am I interested in politics)

Given the backdrop, and the fact that others in the picture are wearing coats/jackets, holding bags, purses etc. it doesn't really look like your typical living room scene.

He's a Billionaire and lives in a totally different world to you, it's a good photo and looks like he has a great family, I Think he irks so many Farangs simply because he's so rich.

here in Thailand it seems to be  one rule for the govt/elite and a totally different one for the other thais/farangs

We think there is something wrong with this state of affairs. But to the elite and sadly to most Thais that is just the way the world is structured. All men are created equal would not make sense.

For not masking up at home?   Presumably, then, you do wear a mask with your family at home, yes?

Thats a great photo, great looking backdrop, nice looking family.

Happy New Year Khun Anutin and Family.

You are right, he is with his close family, apparently at home, why would he wear a mask? Hate the little p...k but in this case it is social media going beserk, an epidemic of knee jerking [off].

Although he gets the blame for everything, BoJo wasn’t there was he, i.e. those #10 ‘parties’ way back.

but it pains me to say - this just looks like a family photo from his own home

Can’t stand him, should be sent to the moon, but yeah this is just a family pic which most Thais are probably doing unmasked. He should still be hung, drawn & quartered though ????

Posters had a field day blaming the minister for "one rule for him, one rule for the plebs"

Did anyone expect anything different.

Frankly, quite a sad show by all the bashers here. We are not even told who are the people in the picture (apparently an irrelevant detail for the journalist), for all we know it could be all family.

Well, that how capitalism, feudalism, slavery work. Class divided societies. The ruling class making laws to control those below them.
In a classless society, there are no any laws and control. There are no rulers.

There is also no need for any form of government. Also no police, army or any coercive forces.
thats the possible future after the present socio-economic system outlives its use for progress

Do you suspect multimillionaire in a semi-feudal society to have anything to do with egalitarian set up?

Perhaps he had originally wanted to be a policeman.  Top policemen in Thailand are on public record as saying the law does not apply to them.

To be fair the photos don't indicate much of a party, likewise the allegations of partying in the UK. Media exaggeration of these events is not helpful for those seeking change.

Still, why no masks in this (again) worsening pandemic?

I do not wear a mask in my home, nor do other family members. I will usually mask up to receive deliveries from mail or Kerry - but that is more to show respect to them.

Media beat up.

Have you actually met any human beings?

The same crook who is laughing all the way to the bank with his Thai buddies from Thailand Pass and hotel, hospitals, insurance companies and travel agents making money off of the misery of others. If he is so concerned about his Thai brothers and sisters catching Covid why did he stall for months ordering any good vaccines and having a plan to get the country vaccinated? Instead he focuses on scamming foreigners using Covid as a excuse to profit from.

Looks more like a photo in a shopping mall to me.

A billionaires' home probably looks like a shopping mall to most of us normal folk

However, even if that is what his home looks like (an interesting choice of wallpaper), I think it's justified that he's getting so much ill will from the public given his behaviour over the last couple of years. I hope it continues so he realizes just how hated he is by his fellow Thais.

He wont give a Sj!th

He understands that rules don't apply to those at the top of the pyramid - the thai social contract confers this power, without which the natives would become restless - so that bleeds over into entitled behavior and a massive lack of self-awareness.

Forum rules prevent me from commenting on this guy.

But he makes me think of short word for Uk a traffic warden. !!!! LOL

Rumors are he's prepping for a stint on season 3 of the thai version of the The Mask Singer.

Here he is modeling his "costume".

Party in his "house"?

Well, you might be interested to learn, that he has his own private airstrip to land his plane when getting back to his "house". The GPS: 14.632559  101.462943 show the airstrip on his tiny little estate of 700 Rai.

Sure you do not need masks on a family occasion, if you avail a little ranch of just over one square kilometre in size. Running the health ministry and building airports seems to be a lucrative business - congratulations are in order.

And, in all fairness, who except the semi-divine Thai officials of course, would wear masks at home, on the toilet or while sleeping? You're welcome!

Are you saying that Anutin owns Rancho Charvee, which is the owner of the airstrip in question?
