As an American having witnessed “The Donald”, I am unable to address the foibles of other global citizens. We may dislike him but comparing data he does have a point. Thailand fully vaccinated is at 68.7% compare USA at 63.9% and they started earlier while deaths to date is 37k Thailand and USA a whopping 882 k. We can extrapolate according to population size and still the US deaths is massively disproportionate. Looking forward the picture for US is even more alarming with vaccination crawling slowly and breakdown of order for masking and social distance. Price you pay for freedom of speech. Thailand looks much better looking forward.

It's 246,459 per million which makes is approx 16,5 million tests in total.

 

That's still a very low number for such a huge population if you compare them to the country that test most in the world.

Denmark test roughly 80 x more than Thailand.

 

Some truths can be found in between the lines if you look at Active cases/critical, serious cases.

Denmark has 521.237 cases but only 33 serious cases!

Thailand has 83.936 cases but a staggering 588 serious cases which tells me their active cases are way way higher than the daily numbers report.

I think we're looking at several hundred thousands positive cases per day in Thailand and not  8000 as they publish.

 

But not all bad for Thailand.

When we look at deaths pr million Thailand ranks 91th in the world

Denmark is 116th so Thailand did better on deaths, which is a good thing.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak Thailand  has consistently performed  better than the USA, which in itself  is not difficult. Thailand  were ranked in the top  ten in the world at one time but were let down by their vaccination  program. The USA, for a 'modern' 'civilised' country is doing very  poorly, poor vaccine  take up rates, lack of leadership and a divided  people.

I finally agree with something Anutin says.  The Thai people have basically complied from my viewpoint with mask wearing, social distancing, hand washing and vaccination.  This is despite the many governmental delays with vaccination and demeaning lockdowns affecting local economies.  I give the Thai people credit for basically ignoring Anutin and his ignorance as he makes my blood boil.  And I truly hope this all goes away soon and hopefully Anutin will too.

Let’s be honest, the USA haven’t exactly set the bar very high when it comes to responding to the COVID pandemic, so it’s not very hard to do a better job. The problem is that from the start everything has been hugely politicized in the USA, like having to wear a mask was compared to being a Jew in nazi Germany. Way too many crazies and nutbags over there ran with it, and are stil running with it.

I have no words to explain the mind of this arrogant fool. Hubris always looses. 

1. Hofstra educated in the U.S. (Hofstra won't give out his grades).

2) His obsequious fuq up with Siam Bioscience.

3) His open arms for US vaccine donations. Which includes the vaccines of choice for boosters.

4) His bragging that everything is under control thanks to him in Thailand  just prior to Omicron (he dodged a bullet).

5) His emperor has no clothes approach as Thailand's savior.

6) Highway deaths per Capita (should be his metric so take responsibility if you are so great in getting things done).

I could add to this list as his character flaws are innumerable.

The only thing he has done in terms of public policy is the advancement in marijuana regulation. There must be a benefit there. What a sad representative of the good people of Thailand.

Now he wears a mask does not want to declare Covid Endemic in Thailand nor cancel state of emergency. It is what he has not said which is more important
