(Left) Mr Jimi Sandhu also known as ‘slice’ is reported to have been living between Dubai and East Asia since he fled India in 2018 after police uncovered a large ketamine drug factory. He was gunned down at approximately 10 pm on Friday night at his luxury villa in the Rawai Beach area of Phuket. (Inset) He was shot at least 10 times after two hitmen emerged as he got out of his red MG car with the duo escaping through the beach.

Initial news reports suggested that the Indian gangland figure was a Canadian national. This came about after police in Phuket, early on Saturday morning, discovered 2 pieces of identification including a Canadian passport and driver’s licence in the names of third parties, both of Indian descent.

The tourist gunned down on Friday night was a marked gangland crime figure who lived his life travelling between Dubai and East Asia since he fled India in 2018 after police uncovered a huge ketamine drug factory. 32-year-old Jimi Sandhu, however, was best known as a gangland crime figure in British Columbia who was deported back to India in 2016 after Canadian police warned the public to stay clear of him as they feared he was an imminent target for assassination.

A man murdered in Phuket on Friday night by what investigating Thai police believe to be two foreign assassins was a dangerous gangster who lived between Dubai and Southeast Asia after taking flight from India in 2018 when he was discovered operating a ketamine drug factory.

How did he travel and how often was his passport checked?

  • Weird part of the story.  He lives in a luxury condo.  Is a big time drug dealer.  And he drives an MG?  I mean, if it is a modern Chinese made MG it's not exactly posh is it?

Too bad we didn't get a warning.

Anyway not just a criminal, but a dumb one.

Sounds like he flew in a private jet to and from while using fake passports.

Doesn't sound like a tourist to me, just another one of those common ones hiding in the shadows while making his keep from drugs and of course paying those agents and others to allow him to stay in the country.

Where was Joe and his cronies with their tax payer BMW's ?

Funny yesterday police said don't jump to conclusions that he was a criminal and it was a targeted attack! Hmmm

It seems like a lot of them Speculation of the police know he was a drug dealer Did they knew all this why didn’t they arrest him so assassins we’re able to get guns into the country go there and find this one guy of all the people they live in Phuket and do it to me it sounds like maybe the police are paid a lot of money to eliminate this guy. They treat law abiding non-immgrant visa holders like parolees, and yet they can't stop slime like this getting in and living the high life? Or maybe they can, but money talks. How many Joe Ferraris are out there? Everyone in any uniform above the rank of Sargeant!

Ever more glad I left this militarized clown-hole with every new news report I read.

From what I can see, those guys who shot him was not amateurs, and My best guess former army.

I like a lot more when everybody involves checks the facts first before they speculate.

There are too many stories out there with little facts and lots of speculation.

Just wait a day or a few days and publish correct information.

Stumbled across the video on Reddit. The 2 assailants completely emptied their clubs into him. Looks like the final one might have been a head tap. It appears had very clear instructions from someone.

.. Or his husband..????

Everybody is assuming he flew into Phuket, It's also possible he could have entered Phuket by boat into Chalong bay then just 2 or 3 miles to the villa where he was shot, infact along the beach

If it was foreigners that killed him, I very much doubt they'd bring their weapons with them - the country's awash with guns.

Interesting.
Some "Canadian" drug dealers were also recently killed in Mexico (on 22 Jan).
https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/hotel-shooting-victims-criminal-activities/

Apparently members of (or connected to) Vietnamese drug gangs in Canada.

And it's not hard to travel on a fake passport. Or one that was "stolen" but never reported as such.

It used to be common in Thailand for people to sell their passports when they ran out of money, then claim they'd been "stolen" from their hotel room (or while they were on the beach, etc, etc). They'd then have more money to extend their holiday and get "emergency travel documents" to get home with later on.
Two Iranians on the missing Malaysian MH370 flight were apparently travelling on (Austrian and Italian) passports that had been reported as "stolen".

Michael Karas was out on probation (after serving time for a string of armed robberies) when he travelled to Thailand on a passport he supposedly "stole" from someone, who never reported it stolen for over a year as Karas used the same passport to return to Canada after murdering the Thai woman he'd been living with for a year.

The mother and the sister of Omar Khadr (the 15 year old terrorist who spent time in Guantanamo) were both placed on a "restricted" list for (Canadian) passports due to them both claiming to have "lost" their passports a few times too many.

They would use their Canadian passports to get to (wherever) and then give them to their terrorist friends to use, then after awhile would claim to have lost them and apply for new ones. Something they apparently did often enough that it raised flags and ended up getting them on the restricted list. (But not because the father and 3 brothers were all involved in terrorist activities that the mother and sister supported.)

We've had (in Canada) people who've been deported (usually to India it seems) and caught (in Canada) again months later, deported (again) and caught (again) barely a year later. (Makes you wonder why they keep going back and how they can keep getting new passports.)

Most IOs see so many faces everyday they rely mostly on the computer to tell them if there's a problem with the passport. So long as your skin colour and hair look similar to the passport photo, they don't really look that closely at you so it's easy to get by on someone else's passport (assuming they haven't reported it or are wanted themselves of course).

Biometric scanners (fingerprint scanners like they use at Suvarnabhumi, retinal scanners used in other places like Sharjah in the UAE) will put a crimp in the ability of some, but many countries do not have that level of tech and even countries that do, may not use it at all border crossings, so a certain element will still be able to travel around far too easily.

From what I can see, they are patient, and have timing, and make sure the target will not survive. Not easy for amateurs to act so disciplined without training and experience.
