What a sad looking photo - Biden looks like the geriatric, care home inmate he should be.

He should not be admitted into the US. Obviously foreign policy hasn't improved since Chili and Argentina.

Maybe if our general catches Covid while in the US, he can call upon Admiral Levine, the Assistant Secretary of Health, to attend upon him.

I bet Prayut will have this pic in a frame on his desk alongside his other best buddy. Now he can flip flop them when certain visitors arrive.

Chest puffed-up for a photo shoot, Prayut looks like a prize turkey.

And Prayuth the owner of the long-stay care home.

So how is the weather in Taiwan?

And then we have the critics here of Biden.  Then the critics of their  home country and other western countries.
But most of these same people that moved here also have all sorts of issues with Thailand.
Maybe the fact is they are just plain miserable.

One senile fellow was given the opportunity to walk the secured garden while the other one should have considered seeing a professional tailor above the porky pig niveau ????
Wondering what they discussed and just hope that the did not get "lost in translation"!

I am almost sure Biden is still convinced he just met the leader of Taiwan. Or Kyrgyzstan.

BANGKOK -- Sixty five local and international non-profit organizations issued a joint letter to US President Biden on Thursday to denounce what they called Thailand's Abusive NGO Draft Law. The letter was issued while Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is in Washington DC to attend ASEAN-US Summit.
Part of the letter stated  that Thailand’s Draft Act on the Operations of Not-for-Profit Organizations, which the Thai Cabinet approved in principle on January 4, if passed, would "systematically violate the rights to freedom of association and freedom of expression of non-profit groups, so we urge you to call on the Thai government to scrap this draft law when you meet with the Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha and his delegation at the upcoming US-ASEAN special summit at the White House on May 12-13, 2022."

And besides, you have to admit both Biden and Prayuth are fairly easy to joke about. The main difference is one of them was elected in a fair election, and intends to leave office in a couple of years. The other?

And then we have the moaners moaning about folk having a moan on a Saturday morning on an anonymous internet forum.

It beggars belief. I am exasperated.

Is it the American people's aim to have an elected president that is over 100 years old before 2050?

And Prayut as happy as a lark because he doesn't need to where 'the face diaper of submittence' in public unlike in here in Thailand where it will mandatory dress by law until 2023 or beyond.

Strewth, I bet you’re the life and soul of the party. So people can’t have an opinion on important matters then? Just accept what is? Essentially the leader of the free world mixing it up with a despot wannabe. Both are doddery and fair game. But of course Joe boy is only mixing with the shady one (and yes he would’ve need to have been told who he was) to pull them away from China.

Yes, and thankfully so. It's nice to have high ideals. But to have these ideals trump realpolitik would have the US void of the "friends" it needs around the world to keep matters to the US's advantage. And keeping Thailand the friend that it's been ever since the King offered elephants during the Civil War makes complete sense, regardless of what the idealists think of their current government------

------which, by the way, comes across squeaky clean in their last election, compared to the US, with their insurrection and deaths at the Capitol.

No, the US is in no position to criticize the current Thai situation -- at least they don't have a Thaksin cult similar to the Trump cult. Yes, it denies some freedoms allowed in the West; but so too does Singapore (which the NGOs also attack, but we never read about it, since it's such a non event in this part of the world with managed democracies).

No, the US and Thailand make a good friendship fit. Just hope the State Dept keeps on its realpolitik path, and doesn't deviate into idealism, as it did under Obama.

Hope Prayuth and Biden had a good meeting.
