Walking Street, Pattaya-  A 42-year-old Indian man reported to Pattaya police early this morning that he claims his 45,000 baht necklace was stolen on Walking Street by what he believes was a transgender person.

 

At 2:00 A.M. today, May 13th, Mr. Shivanjaneya Kapuram, 42, arrived at the Pattaya Police Station on Soi 9 to file a police report.

According to Mr. Kapuram, he is a tourist and had been out for a night of partying with friends and they were on their way back to their hotel. While at the mouth of Walking Street he said a transgender woman approached him and offered him a hug. Mr. Kapuram said he politely rejected the advances of the person and continued on his way to his hotel.

It happened last time there was a surge in Indian tourists.... there was also some reported tales of fake claims back then. Surely we have enough cameras around these days to at least verify or disprove the crimes. I expect it is the same couple of LBs making mischief, and the police will catch them soon.

They might as well wear a sign, "Please rob me".

Just keep these claims rolling in. The next Indian will no doubt claim his necklace  stolen was valued at 60,000 THB.  Good the Thai government wants these type of tourist as for levels of scamming then they really deserve each other.

Doubt it as the corrupt RTP probably gets a small donation from the Indian tourist to write up the report, knowing it to be false, so that the Indians can claim on their travel insurance. A common scam that has been going on for years.

Yep once they have collected enough gold chains they will move in on the thieves and divide up the loot.

Is it not not just called a robber or a thief?

Well, at least the Indians are back. Unclear though is, what these fellows are doing - decorated like a Christmas tree with all that gold buntings - and then run around and complain being robbed. 

They come from a "rob" society; whoever travelled in Southasia has stories to share. Hence why on Earth run around like a gold shop display - for what? 

All this of course on the assumption, that our little friend from beautiful India indeed left home with it ????

When they take their picture at immigration, they show off their high value necklace.

Those would like to be millionaires are pushing the prices up.

Essential for an Insurance claim.  It wouldn't surprised me if there was a special office/document for these at a price.
