I am planning to settle down in Pattaya I think. Looking for properties. 

BUt with no disrespect, i am also looking for a seroious girlfriend. And I dunno if pattaya is the place. I stayed in Pattaya for few months before. 

I like the beach, malls, restaurants, and especially cheap fruit at markets and of course weather. 

I am not that into bars....only rarely go there. I am afraid I will not be able to find a good girlfeidn in Pattaya. 

Is hua hin better, is real estate cheaper there, water cleaner?

 

Its not easy to find a serious girlfriend , most of them are quite jovial and mess around a bit

Yes, but then you have to deal with an entire nation that resembles one giant Tijuana! 

 

One issue you will find with Hua Hin, is that the younger, hotter gals (if that is a consideration) tend to demand and command more revenue from their men, and due to a relatively affluent expat population, they seem to get it. Also, there is ALOT less nightlife and action in HH, than in Pattaya. And a very minor amount of younger, hot women in the bars. There are a lot of women but most are older, and not very pretty.

Rent somewhere, spend 6 months or more travelling around and staying in different places and provinces of Thailand, the girl will find you!  they are EVERYWHERE you wont have to search for one.Like walking on a beach and saying where can I find sand!

 

Atleast that way you can get a feel for what you like, dont narrow the feild to just two very well known and well trodden paths/ places

OP, maybe ask one question, "can I find a serious GF in Pattaya" OR "is the water cleaner in Hua Hin" Otherwise you will get a mixed bag of responses to do with water quality in Pattaya or online dating in Hua Hin.

It is pretty easy to find a normal serious GF in Pattaya, just stay away from the sexpat/sex tourism lifestyle. Online dating is a good start, so long as you use it as intended and filter out the bargirls, approach it with honest intentions. Look for hookers and you will find hookers, send dick pics and ask for nude photos and you wont be meeting any nice girls.

If you were a Thai girl in Pattaya - and you met a guy - wouldn't you expect him to be like all the other farang guys you met in Pattaya...

Hua Hin is more normal than Pattaya but where isn't, it's also a nicer place and nicer beach. If you don't want the bars/working girls and night life, forget Pattaya. As for girls.....there are plenty of normal Thai girls everywhere, you just have to see them.

If you are looking for a serious girlfriend, you may have trouble.  If you do not speak Thai, most English speaking girls will either be in the bar scene or be well educated.  You do not wish a bar girl, so what do you bring to interest an educated girl who may well have a good job.

 

You may wish to consider online dating or going through friends to increase your chances.

 

In addition to hua hin, have you considered Bangkok or Phuket?

i have lived in both.

just live your life normally, you will meet a girl naturally and very easily.

Just eating at the  night market you will see plenty of girls, just smile and say hi.

its very, easy.

if you want some fun, then fur sure, Pattaya is the place to go, although fun girls are available in Hua HIn also.

Just go to the massage places, you will get fun in the majority of them

     I think you can find suitable women in either place.  Greater Pattaya is really quite large and the bar areas are just a small part of it.  There are plenty of 9-5 women workers.  I would not be choosing Hua Hin or Pattaya based on your type of woman requirement.  I think you should weigh your location on other things, such as the variety of housing choices available, medical services, proximity to Bangkok, shopping and entertainment choices, recreation, international airports nearby, abundant nightlife when you may want it, and the number and variety of beaches since both are beach towns.   Pattaya comes out on top for me; for others, Hua Hin might.

I don't go to Cheap Charley places to start with and don't need to pay for a girl to stay with me.

Not all of Pattaya is the red light area, you can live your life here and not have much to do with the sexpat areas or lifestyle. Outside of the central sex tourist areas, its a big city with lots of lifestyle choices and options, a couple of ks from the city centre its just normal Thailand.

What is good?

It actually is one of the easiset places in the world.  But, you will need to pay. Pay, pay, pay.

Yeh learning proper Thai would benefit you greatly. That would also usually put the bar girl type off. I found going to Thai clubs or those cabaret or German themed places with cabaret the Thais love. You will be the in the minority as a foreigner but you are more likely to meet decent girls.

Easy to find a good gf if you speak Thai.
