Yes I made your day. I answered your troll with a honest answer. Otherwise you would have felt sad and lonely.

What an honest deed. You certainly are a gentleman

I try to be in a world full of trolls and smart alecs. One wonders what they look like in real life.

Must be a sight indeed.

My understanding, from the report, is that the son was attacked and beaten by the bouncers and then the father slapped a bouncer and was put down too?

I had a very agreeable Californian Zinfandel last night, accompanied by filet de boeuf en croute. The combination of the perfectly cooked puff pastry surrounding the "bleue” cooked beef was succulently heavenly. If only you'd been there with your rapier like wit and charm ...

Wow sounds amazing.

Total overreaction to the situation by the Thai bouncers.

They could have killed the Brit who was helpless on the floor.

These unhinged Thai males need locking up before they do some serious damage to another patron.

Bouncers should be trained to use 'reasonable force' when dealing with violent altercations, not beating someone to a pulp who is already on the floor helpless.

Shocking behavior from the Thais once again!

I think you missed the bit at the beginning where the younger Brit slapped the Thai guy first and then got a minor beating. It’s not like they were kicking and beating them to a pulp. Also, this is Thailand, the land of Thai boxing, where they use arms and legs, plus they were bouncers. What did you expect, a friendly sit down and a peace pipe to hush it out?

By the way, the way this article is written is so biased towards the “poor” Brits when in reality it’s the fault of the younger Brit that it came to this. They could’ve just walked away!

Slap bouncers anywhere in the world and you're likely to get hurt.

Why were they asked to leave the bar in the first place? Probably acting like tossers. Then they slap the bouncer outside. What were they expecting? A wai and a free drink?

No sympathy from me.

Doesn't matter what happened inside the bar or who started the fight outside the bar. But for argument's sake, let's just assume, speculating, the Brits were at fault in  both.

Even if they were, ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for multiple Thai bouncers to continue kicking the Brits in the head and elsewhere once they were down on the ground.

Their job should have been to escort them from the bar, detain them if appropriate, and any reasonable action to defend themselves, while also summoning the police.... not to launch an all-out brutal assault on customers of their bar.

Im 6 foot 3. Fit and strong.

Im in Bangkok next week. Turn up and have a beer. Lets see what you look like.

Thats if you are game. I bet not.

Ooh,I'm so scared now! But I don't drink beer, will you stretch to bottle of decent red ????... especially if you like the look of me - you seem keen .. ????

But I'm 10,000 kilometers away for next few months so you'll have to stretch to an airfare.. business at the very least. I promise I'll be worth it,but your own self description seems terribly classically contrived.

Is it really a 5 foot 5 inch bald man with a club foot? That won't put me off..honest.. ????

Who started the fight is debatable, the response by the bouncers was clearly excessive.

Having said that, I do wonder why there seems to be a disproportionate number of Brits who get into such altercations.

I have never been asked to leave any bar. If I had been, you would not see me for dust.

It’s not really a club foot, just missing 3cm of one leg. Motorbike accident and botched surgery.

And that's the whole idea behind what some might consider to be an overreaction by the bouncers. By getting their behinds and heads kicked, the Brits MIGHT learn a lesson, and correct their behavior. Any lenient response, and they for sure will not learn a lesson. It's a public service the bouncers are doing.

They got off lightly.

Pattaya is popular amongst English. Why? Ask them.

It used to happen a lot in the UK, bouncers beating up customers on a regular basis, thugs in uniforms.

Over time that changed somewhat, jail sentences, fines for bars, threats of bar licences revoked and it moved to a lot more training and education for bouncers. I believe they now encourage licencing of bouncers with a focus on de-ecalation, control and safety of customers. That said you still aint gonna slap a bouncer without the expectation of repercussions. The threat of getting a beating is still there but bouncers are generally more in control of the situation as a result of the changes.

Drunk people are generally idiot's, if you work in the bar industry particularly in a tourist area you know this but they bring in money, idiots are the the income stream, you need to be able to deal with idiots on a regular basis and in a controlled fashion. I'd even add most expats here also know this, were also idiots at times but the tourist idiot is a next level thing.

Here many of the bars still have that thugs in uniform mentality and worry about their own saving face, other bars have educated their team members and you do see controlled de-escalation, whether that's about recognising the idiots bring money and pay there bills or just being a bit more educated and reasonable is debatable.

For me if you start kicking an old drunk dude when he's already down you've lost control, your job is control and if you cant keep yourself in control you shouldn't be in the job and you'll end up bringing harm to your business. It then becomes a business argument.

If there's three times as many poms to kiwis then more likely poms in trouble.

These two tourists were obviously very green and naive .....  they didn't realize TIT '  where bouncers love the opportunity to kick a farang in the head when he's on the ground.

thai's fight in packs like dogs,  they are low'  bouncers even lower,  everybody knows this.

The tourists are lucky they weren't killed,   hope they learnt more about thai culture after their bad experience.

Again, this is not what some consider an overreaction by the bouncers. This is not an opinion. Kicking someone in the head because he slapped you, lightly, AFTER you hit them back and knocked him to the ground, is an assault, and would get you jail time most anywhere else, at least civilized countries. Do you actually think people learn a lesson from being kicked in the head? A normal person would think twice after being hit back and knocked to the ground. If he didn't get up and continue the fight, either he was too drunk, or thought about it and realized his mistake. Some would go back and shoot the assailant, as happens most daily in a lot of countries, including here. Some would sue the bar and might win, especially if the jury saw this video. Maybe not here, but that's besides the point. Getting hit is not an excuse for kicking someone when they are down. What the Brit did was stupid, but didn't deserve the outcome. The answers some have given shows a lot about why this world is so screwed up.
