LOCAL residents in Pattaya have urged the authorities to crackdown on tourists partying on Jomtien beach after midnight till 7 a.m. in the morning with the loud music they play preventing them from sleeping, Amarin TV said today (Aug. 10).

Upon receiving complaints, this TV station’s news team inspected the beach and found that after bars closed groups of tourists gradually flocked in and bought alcohol and drugs plus renting bluetooth speakers to play music which is against the law.

You are assuming they are foreign tourists. I doubt very much that they are.

Now, are the police going to arrest those who rent the bluetooth speakers, as doing that is against the law.

yes,  they will be a mix of locals, Asian workers and some expats I expect.  As you said, the person renting speakers has alot to answer for,  but that's only part of it ... they will still party without the speakers.

After the bars close, customers, service staff, locals and hawkers will mix.

The beach is an obvious location.

I walk past their 7am most mornings. Its not tourists!  Locals relaxing after working all night. A lot of them are ladyboys, yes they drink and play music (I don't think its that loud) along with some volleyball. Its quite funny watching tthe ladyboys in short cocktail dresses playing volleyball.

Would you be arrested if you and some tourist friends play a Guitar on the beach creating there own Music.

Depends on how good you are ....  or aren't.

Maybe just reserve the beach for ordination parties and temple fairs.

That kind of cacophony is ok...right?

Not sure but death metal with a Gibson and Marshall stack may upset some.

Isn't drinking alcohol on the beach illegal? So where are the BIB??

Surely having more than one ball in the air iat a time is confusing.

It is well known the BiB are prone to only operate in the hours of sunlight as anything else inhibits there ability to function.

Unless a photo opportunity presents itself.

Oh Barry. stop assuming.

This has been going on down there for at least 20 years.

It is a nightly event. Always has the volleyball set up as you can see in the photo.

Mix of Thai and western tourists.

Good place to pick up drunk or yaba affected girls.

Just got to make sure theydont have a penis as a lot of LBs also get down there.

A lot of fun Barry.

I hope to see you down there some time.

I would participate  too but it's way past my bedtime.

Mainly Thai teens with pints of Krathom !

Staying up all night is for idiots. What do you think is keeping them up all night ? Coffee ?

I guess if its late shift workers or something its fine. But anyone who's dancing at 7:00 am is on drugs

You should start a Youtube channel.

I thought Jomtien was supposed to be higher class than Pattaya beach. Yet they have ladyboy volleyball at 7 am ?

I used to ride my push bike along Dongtan beach and saw them. They are the most respectful, polite groups ever. When they are finished, they clean up all their trash and leave the beach area cleaner than when they arrived.

Fancy living in a nearby condo and having the audacity to want to go to sleep.

Fancy buying/renting a condo without doing due dilligence.

I don't think their noise is very load,  and the condo resident can just close their balcony sliding door.

As long as their noise isn't bothering anyone,  they're fine.

I agree , Before you buy a condominium you need to check the Thai database for inconsiderate idiots, and we should all adjust our lives to accommodate such inconsiderate  idiots.

Imagine people to want the law to try and prevent inconsiderate idiots from exercising their god given right to be Inconsiderate  idiots.

If we allow this to happen it would open the floodgates to  limit   other inconsiderate idiot behavior  , and then what are inconsiderate idiot to do?

They would have to become considerate idiots and that' a contradiction in terms. What scientists call a pairofducks.

They might even require bars to close after a certain time!!

Personally I am outraged!!

Obviously from the OP it is bothering people who live in the area...

and if you sort of like to leave door open and live with fan instead of a/c?  i think the problem is not the party but the increasing loud bluetooth speakers not to mention lots of drunks yelling all night long....and yes i know TIT so good luck with any controls....now IF IF a mr big from bangkok in the Penthouse suite of a building was disturbed i suspect the beach would be cleared in a few days and it would be the sound of the surf only....

Presumably they're talking about domestic tourists,  Thai's with their modified   pick ups   with the rear  tray  turned  into a  speaker blasting out  music   at night   while parked at the beach in jomtien has been happening for  15 years that i know of, many complaints  to the police , but  nothing  has ever been  done to stop  them.. so nothing new
