A Russian man was arrested in Phuket on Monday, May 6th, for allegedly working illegally online. Phuket Immigration informed that the arrest was made following a tip by a concerned citizen who reported a foreigner offering massage services unlawfully via Instagram and WhatsApp.

An immigration officer, pretending to be a potential customer, contacted the man through one of the mentioned online platforms arranging to buy the massage services in Russian. The services were agreed upon for 200 US dollars or around 7,000 baht.

The officer, whose identity remains undisclosed, then met the suspected individual, identified as Mr. Aleksandr, a 37-year-old Russian national, at a residence in Wichit, pretending to be a customer. Mr. Aleksandr was busy offering massage therapy to other customers at the time and was subsequently arrested.

He was taken to the Wichit Police Station to face charges of unauthorized work. The suspect has not issued any statement to the press regarding the incident at this time.

He was arrested for working illegally as a masseur - the "online" part is irrelevant.

And its only the beginning it will become a ghetto with all the pheasant Russians moving there in the droves,

They have money but only because  of family Trust fund babies  or the potato farm was sitting on oil and gas, they are ruthless culture and will do anything to earn a buck good or bad.. In time Thailand will be in deep sh.. Because of it allowing them  to enter willy neally and yes take over. When the  normal tourist or expat  doesn't go to phuket any more then the Thais will have a cry and want to take action. Clueless they do some dumb stuff the Thais but this one will bite them hard in the long run, but as, we know Thais only see 1 day in front of them not long term.. And about the $$$$.

Aren't we lucky to have concerned citizens?

He’s tried to disguise himself with Wall Paper

The immigration officer was fluent in Russian or did immigration hire a Russian as an uncover agent?

The colour coordinated footwear is a nice touch.

I don’t think he was working illegally online. He was working illegally. He solicited business online  for his illegal activities.

A slight difference.

All immigration has to do is spend some time online at marketplace to find Russians working doing everything they can to break the laws here and here's just a few that I've seen

Taxis,, house cleaning,, steam cleaning,, building,, these are on YouTube,,  real estate,, building inspection,, massage,, prostitutes,, bars,, cooking,, waitress,, hair care,, motor bike hire,, car hire,, mobile car cleaning,, currency exchange great for laundering money,, personal trainers and basically every thing these low life's can do to earn money illegally here, time to get rid of them all
