Central Festival food court

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Arrived to Pattaya after so many years. I was truly amazed by crowds at beaches, bars and central. It was never, ever like this. PACKED.

I was also amazed by prices at central festival food court. 170 baht for Khao kha moo or similar dishes. Had it. Worth the price, but still

lol what a rip. told wife to turn around.

Pier 21. Meals generally from around 35 baht to 60 baht. Good value as I think the vendors aren't charged rent.

  • I didn't realize just how many cheap charlies there are around Pattaya,  now I know ....

  • Spoken by "2 week millionaire"? If you get a good meal for 40-50 B why pay more?

It was like this during a couple of years just before the opening of Terminal 21. But this was due to the fact that Central Festival was still the only shopping mall in Pattaya. It got better after the inauguration of Terminal 21, but not for long.

I don't mind the price hikes. What I resent is walking around with a tray and not finding a place where to sit.

Tourist prices in Central Festival, other food courts are cheaper but can have a canteen school dinners feel like Big C Extra

... So prices still too low to balance with space for customers.

I used to eat on the back side of the buiolding. There were street food stalls on the curb.

Pad Thai was excellent and only 50 B.

The food court is only busy because its peak high season....

The food court has been deader than dead for years now......Ever since they did the bad remodel a number of years ago now.......Along with the remodel came much higher prices.....The whole place offer very very poor value now.....

The food court thats closer to beach road in Central offers a bit better value.....But nothing to write home about....

Wait until you see the prices at the "Night Market". I'm staying here.

Yes, better prices than Central too. Still remember when Central opened and me and Mrs went to the food court, she complained way back then it was overpriced! Not eaten in there since.......

We went to T-21 yesterday. Took an hour from Suk to T-21 by car. The food court was solid packed not that we had planned eating there. Our fav noodle joint No 8 had a waiting list. Ended up at Sizzler for salad bar. Our go to place if the ole lady is with us is Shabu shi with platinum menu.

Probably a mere 20% of your daily beer budget :drunk: Who is the "we" and the "us"? It's just you. Alone.

If I'm not mistaken, the Central Festival lower level has two food courts?  One is right net to the Tops grocery store, and the other is in another area, but still on that same level.

That wasn't the answer I was looking for 😀

Not trying to harangue you, I was just looking for a valid reason for your disdain.

Inadequate budget would be an acceptable reason.......

Their whole boiling food in water restaurant concept just does now work for western tastes with any farang I know......I have given it a honest try a few times and always left unhappy.....

The grilling food at your table at a buffet is way better...

That's more like it  -  thanks.

It does seem to suit the palate of @EVENKEEL though.

You don't know me but It suits this farang. Boiling food in soup, not just water. But I agree, the grill places like Sukishi or AKA are much better.

Questions. Is it any of your business how much anyone spends for food? Why do you consider a person cheap if they want to save money?  Being frugal is always a smart idea because one never knows when they might run into trouble and need a lot of their savings to get out of that trouble. People who comment like this are actually bragging that they have more money to spend than others. How they came into that money is the real question. Did they work a job that was helping others or the earth, or was it taking advantage of others, raping the earth's resources or moving rich people's cash around so they make a profit doing really nothing useful for the average man?

 Many many many times.

Last time was probably 5 months ago.

But not anymore.

I'll be headed to Bang Saen, Cha-am, Hua Hin, etc, from now on.

Pattaya simply sucks.

Yep, some people are just not suited to Pattaya.
