In an unusual turn of events, two Nigerian men were arrested in Phuket last night after being caught drifting a sedan in the middle of a busy intersection. The incident, which occurred at the Koh Kaew Intersection on Thep Krasattri Road, was widely shared online, drawing attention to the brazen behaviour of the suspects.

The video, posted by Newshawk Phuket, shows the sedan performing dangerous manoeuvres despite the surrounding traffic. Witness reports suggest the same vehicle was involved in similar stunts at another intersection the same day.

Thalang Police eventually tracked the car down and apprehended the suspects near Soi Koh Kaew 23. Uncooperative from the start, the men attempted to flee into a nearby forest but were unsuccessful. When brought in for questioning, they resisted communication, opting to sing rather than speak English or comply with drug testing.

The police discovered one of the men, Anamere George, had a standing warrant for illegal entry and possession of cocaine. Charges have been filed against both individuals, including illegal entry under the Immigration Act and reckless driving under the Land Traffic Act. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about traffic safety and foreign compliance with local laws in tourist areas like Phuket, reported The Thaiger.

  • I was more than a little taken aback by the hog-tied ankles as well, but probably has everything to do with their erratic driving and uncooperative behavior, possible inebriation, and attempt to flee

A Mazda! Not exactly the Fast and Furious! 555

Meanwhile, real carnage and death happens all over Thailand on an hourly basis with no traffic enforcement.

Correct.

Bum draggers need Mcdonalds trays under the rear wheels to get em to slide.

They probably should have cropped that photo so it doesn't show them trussed up like they're going to be put on a 17th century slave ship.

Not a good look for LOS.

Now nothing more than a couple of trussed up stunts🤔

They were hog tied like animals.  I never see any asian or farang criminal treated that way in these photo ops.  This pic is more embarrassing for racist Thailand than for the criminals.

Definitely not drifting I think the reason they were tied up like that was when the police tried to apprehend them they ran or tried to complete the scene so the cops wanted to make sure they weren’t gonna have a running around TIT

It would be interesting to know at which point in the process that they were bound up like slaves.

Although apparently law breakers, this seems over the top and almost inhumane.

Have we seen Thais or farangs restrained like this for what was at first a traffic infringement.

Hopefully the next songs they sing is Goodbye yellow brick road when there being deported back to the jungle they came from

Do you think LOS cares about that?

poor baggers try to drift with an automatic mazda2 but just circle around 😄

I was more than a little taken aback by the hog-tied ankles as well, but probably has everything to do with their erratic driving and uncooperative behavior, possible inebriation, and attempt to flee after initial apprehension, and little to do with the color of their skin or nationality. Improvised restraint technique when confronted with large body size uncooperative perpetrators. I'm going to give the Thai police a pass on this one.

At this rate they would be as well telling immigration officials that Nigerian = cocaine !!

Is Nigeria full of cocaine as every article about a Nigerian seems to involve it in some way .

Almost spit out my coffee when reading here they are off to an 17th century slave ship.

imagine how they are being treated in a thai prison lol

What do you expect, polished shackles? They’re criminals and tried to elude law enforcement and deserved detainment, it’s not like they were whipped. Lighten up with the overt sensitivity for criminals.

I'm not against tying them up.  I'm suggesting that maybe a country that depends on tourism should have cropped the photo of a couple of tourists trussed up like that.  It is not a good look, and it could come back and bite TAT in the butt.  Especially with all the scabs and bruises and dirt on their legs.

1, that isn't hog tied.  2, they said that they were trying to run away into the woods.  They tied their legs so they could not run away.  If someone is non-compliant, they will need to be restrained.  Most criminals go peacefully and pose for the the photo.

If you think that's racist, then you're as deluded as some left-wing nutjob.
