Not one that would get him back into Thailand

If that is the issue they just put him on the no entry list.  Don’t have to cancel his pp.

He is Thai,he can always come back here .

Not saying that is what a lot of people want,

After his daughter was fired, I said to the missus - "How long before Thaksin needs urgent medical treatment abroad?" And a week later... here we are.

Given that he has been denied permission to leave in the recent past, I suspect he was handed his passport - along with a Foxtrot Oscar and don't come back.

Question is, what did Thaksin do to upset Hun Sen? Leaking the phone recording was clearly an act of political assassination - but not one which would gain Cambodia any advantage in the border dispute. With Paetongtarn gone, Hun Sen would have known the Shinawatra dynasty was effectively finished.

And what now for all the movers and shakers who facilitated Thaksin's return? And the party which despised Anutin's cannabis deregulation has just voted its architect to be PM. You couldn't make it up.

Ooh, the intrigue...

Thaksin should be given the stark choice of going into exile or a long jail sentence and no more involvement in politics... too toxic.

What a Laugh, they let him keep his Passport so he could take a runner.

How stupid are they . Should've put him in Jail instead.

Oh but do you think think Thailand will request a Red alert on him. Dream on. He's gone. Hope he rots in hell.

I would hope they don't. Out of sight, out of mind. Although i doubt the latter will apply, he'll keep interfering.

How come his private jet had sufficient fuel to divert to Dubai? Normally a jet will only carry enough fuel for the intended journey (in this case Singapore) plus a reserve in case a diversion to an alternative airport is required because of bad weather (in this case there are numerous alternative airports within an hour's flying time). A flight to Dubai requires three times as much fuel as a flight to Singapore (more given the actual route that Thaksin's jet took) and pilots would never load that much fuel unless it was the intention to fly to Dubai in the first place.

Was going to stop at Singapore but apparently the brakes failed.🙃🙃

Omg. 😏Those Thaksin haters are only jealous to his " Teflon coating "... 😉

As you are a Scouser I would trust your expert opinion on all aspects of criminality👍

The intrigue indeed. I'm too tight to subscribe but it looks a good read

A brief extract from Asia Sentinel:

Thaksin is also having to deal with revelations of his US$3.5 billion fortune and his connections to Benjamin Mauerberger, known in some circles as “Thailand’s Jho Low,” a reference to the disgraced financier at the center of one of Asia’s biggest financial scandals.

. Mauerberger, a 47-year-old South African with deep connections to Cambodia's political elite, was a subject of an August 29 article in Asia Sentinel and two more by former Wall Street Journal reporter Tom Wright in his blog Whale Hunting - Uncovering the Secret Worlds of Money & Power.

Like many, I am curious as to what really caused the bust-up between Thaksin and Hun Sen.

No effect, he has other passports

True of course, but having his birth/citizenship passport revoked would be a blow.

It has been revoked before, and he got it back

He had the legal right to leave the country.

Actually, if Thaksin really wanted to regain popularity he should come back before Tuesday and face the court.

If sent down, he will gain kudos as being man enough to face up to his ' wrongdoing' Someone of his status would have a cushy time in the slammer and not stay long.

But if he's found guilty and hasn't come back, then he's just seen as a coward, for this charge of using wealth to avoid jail will not win him any new friends.

Personally, I think Thaksin's ego couldn't handle imprisonment, the degradation, the humiliation!

Of course he's probably busy right now  trying to find out the likely verdict.

If he's sure it's not guilty, he'll be back on Monday, but if Anuthin is now the anointed one, well it's back to counting the grains of sand in Dubai for Maeo.

Good old Hun Sen has already given him a Cambodian passport...

Wouldn't have been amusing if said passport from Cambodia had been quietly revoked.

If you cancel the Thai passport he cannot use it for travel anywhere... that would make life a little more difficult.

If his Thai passport is revoked he can only enter on another passport, which would make him a tourist?

Maybe they hate him because of his mistreatment of the poorer end of the scale...

Many are poor now, the poorer got even poorer than before.

While he sits on his billions.

A Pilots knows international time in all places, as it is worked in UTC and not local time.

In addition, Changi International Airport is 24hrs/7 and can and will accept a business jet. If he had an appointment there to see his Doctors, he would have landed there.

It was never his intent on landing in Singapore. We all watch and see if he will return.

He’s done another runner and there was me thinking he was not allowed to leave Thailand

Wait for the day of his court appearance, if he's a no-show revoke his passport.

He is welcome to stay in Dubai

Which passport specifically?
