August 2, 20205 yr Popular Post I used to believe the BBC until I read about Bill Gates' support. 2% isn't such a big jump, taking into consideration the growth in population, farang jumping off balconies and policemen riding in front of slow-moving Ferraris on the way back from a 2am dental appointment.

August 2, 20205 yr Popular Post There is no evidence of prostitution in Pattaya. The cheques in the post. Thailand is a Covid free success story. Does the Thai government routinely hide the truth? ,,,,, Do bears sh@t in the woods?

August 2, 20205 yr Probably due to unusually high number of pneumonia cases my Bangkok ICU nurse/sister in law was telling my Mrs about in March ????
August 2, 20205 yr From the same report the UK has 43% excess deaths! I know where I'd rather be right now despite the risk of being flattened by a bus. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Do you seriously think a country that fixed its elections and relies on tourism will be honest with figures ? Be praising NK soon

Yes, they complain and moan. Should be happy thailand help them not die. 2400 “excess” deaths. 3 months. = 800 per 1 month = 26 per 1 day = 1 “excess” death per province per 3 days. = false narrative

There is the spike of expected deaths that must be songkran. As we all know there would be a jump during the deadly days. Because songkran was cancelled the number of deaths would be expected to be lower in april than normal by a large number. Perhaps taking that into account may make the difference look larger? It was about 390 deaths at songkran last year. Thats not really so significant.

August 3, 20205 yr 2% is a small number, may be many people were deterred from visiting hospitals. My wife and I were when our hospital announced 7 doctors and staff diagnosed positive 5 days after our last visit. That's when you start wearing a mask.

The data indicates that there are a number of increased deaths over time. Considering the fact that Songkran was cancelled, infectious foreigners were banned, there was slowdown in construction and a lockdown and some very effective social distancing measures taken, there should have been a decrease in the number of deaths over the previous year. Instead we have an excess of deaths. Thailand doesn't do full autopsies so it is easy to say a patient died from a cause other than Covid19.
