Biden says he plans to run for re-election in 2024

Here’s the real joke, right wingers who were this time last year calling for Bernie Sanders to be the Democrat candidate (because they believed Trump could best Sanders and new, as did Trump, that he couldn’t beat Biden) are now saying Biden is to old.

And it’s the same people who want to see Trump stand in 2024.

Exactly. Which is why getting 60 percent approval is probably close to the highest possible.

In the past week or so, this guy fell up his airplane stairs, called another person the president, and today lost the plot in a press conference and then claimed to be over 120 years old.

You can see from my post history that I'm a Trump hater.

I watched the press conference live last night, until I could bear any longer, because this guy is visible senile.

Often he didn't actually know what question he was answering.

He must have used the "because Biden is a nice guy" line probably 10 times in as many minutes.

You are claiming he does nice job, he's only 60 days on the job, so what he could have proven in that short time.

This guy is doing nothing at all, everything is arranged for him, because he probably couldn't go to the toilet on his own

There are those who hate Trump but als oentertain an inordinate fondness for Bernie Sanders and suffer from what approaches, or even surpasses, a religious zeal for universal medicare. It must be galling to see how much that the current administration has already accomplished without the benefit of Sanders' guidance and despite their characterization of Biden as a middle-of-the-road mediocrity.

I hope you are not pointing to the roll out of the vaccine, which wasn't available yet under the previous administration

I'm referring to the nearly 2 trillion dollar legislation that just passed.

You mean the 2 trillion additional debt they just created?

Everyone loves you when you hand out free money.

Psst , who you think is gonna pay for that at the end of the day?

Interest rates are very very low. And the question is, what would it cost if this bill wasn't passed. And anyway, not to worry, Biden has plans for a big tax increase on the rich and powerful. So that should cheer you up.

You mean the rich and powerful who never paid tax, neither under the Republicans or the Democrats.

Why you think they gonna pay something more this time. The only one who gonna be hit by this are the small business

What are you talking about. The rich and powerful may pay way too little, but very, very few pay none. And you are making your assertion in complete ignorance of who the bill targets.

What's more, Biden's tax bill proposes a big funding increase for the IRS. Republicans have systematically starved the IRS of funding for obvious reasons.

Millionaires Get a Lot More IRS Audits in Democratic Bills

Wealthy individuals and large companies would face a major increase in the risk of getting audited by the IRS in two bills unveiled by Democratic lawmakers Thursday.

The U.S. government could take in $1.2 trillion in additional tax revenue over a decade without raising marginal rates by aggressively auditing wealthy individuals and corporations, according to a new bill from Representative Ro Khanna of California.

Both his legislation and a bill reintroduced Thursday by Peter DeFazio, chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, would have some 95% of large companies audited each year, using somewhat different calculations for size.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-18/millionaires-get-a-lot-more-tax-audits-in-democrat-s-irs-bill

The richest 1 percent dodge taxes on more than one-fifth of their income, study shows

The researchers say that years of IRS funding cuts, combined with the increased sophistication of tax evasion tactics available to the rich, have made shirking tax obligations easier than ever. And they say that these estimates probably understate the true extent of tax evasion at the top of the income spectrum.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/03/26/wealthy-tax-evasion/

And FYI, Biden did manage to get a 60 billion dollar tax on the rich passed in the recent covid bill.

I do not feel so much feel people are calling him out in a political sense  as being incompetent or old. I can respect his intelligence. BUT, looking at him you can clearly see he is a clever man struggling in the body of a degenerating old man with all the illnesses that brings and should not be the man in charge of a Super power. The Chinese are taking advantage, the Russians are making a joke of him. The democrats should be ashamed of themselves for putting this soon to be care home resident through all this- there are far better and stronger people I would imagine in the democratic party more fit and suitable for the position.

Really? Please name at least 3 of them. If they are better and stronger than Joe Biden, then why were they not groomed and chosen to stand against Trump.

TBH if a supposedly "senile old man" could beat Trump, then surely any of the far better and stronger people could have done it standing on their head.

We have some very stalwart cheerleaders here for the gaffe-prone President.  At least now we know some of the people who voted for him.

And we also know many of those who didn't and are still Trump supporters who "know" that Trump could no no wrong, not even tell a lie.

You missed his altercation with the Union auto worker.  He pointed his finger and said, “I don’t work for you!”.  Or how about that comment to the young women in New Hampshire, “You’re a lying, dog-faced pony soldier.”  Those comments were not gaffes.

New knowledge is always useful and keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Thank you for your trouble in finding it for me.

It's time for all the geriatrics in DC to retire, regardless of party affiliation, and hand the baton over to the next generation.  I'm not voting for an 82 year old for any political office.  Retire.  It's time for Gen-Xers and Millennials to guide the ship of state.  Boomers (like myself).  Grab a piña colada and hit the beach.  Thanks for your service, now get out of the way.

Numerous off-topic posts and many, many replies removed.

I find your post chillingly objectionable. You are proposing bald faced discriminatory ageism. What would be different if you said no women, no Asians, no chubbies, no left handers, etc.? The U.S. still has a democracy. All eligible can run. The voters decide. I think it's ridiculous to endorse OR reject based on age, younger or older. Did you forget that Bernie Sanders found most of his support from young voters? They could look past his old age. Smart kids.

Sure, let the Ossoff's, AOC's, even VP Harris, run the country.  These old nutters like Ron Johnson, John Kennedy, Graham....Trump, they all need to go.  If only you can get the voters to agree with you.

I like his spirit. If his body will be able, we shall simply wait and see.

Are you allowed to say "old nutters"? Some here are very easily offended. ????
