I guess you don't recall what happened in China when their lockdown occurred.  People were all going hungry because there was no food.  None.

there was video of them welding doors shut in high rise flats to lock people in

Headed out to load up on supplies and restock the pantry.  I have a bad feeling the feces is about to hit the fan and don't want to be caught short.

Ryan. What did I mention to you a month+ back.

Get out of Bangkok.

My choice was island. Actually now back in Bkk for a week, check condo etc.

Back island next week.

Take care.

Well that is only your opinion so as you are neither Thai nor Chinese.  For a true opinion then you should ask the average Thai of their opinion about their government and then ask the average Chinese about theirs. Anything else is just bias and opinion.

True. Let's ask the Uyghurs...

1. As long as they continue this completely false narrative that cases are only happening in workers camps and factories then Thailand is completely doomed. It is everywhere now.

2. The real numbers are likely 10 times higher than stated if not more. You cannot effectively monitor and then build approprate measures if you are denying reality in this way.

3. Stop calling them clusters. This is throughout the whole of the community now and can no longer be classified as clusters. Again this continuos denial of reality only makes the issue worse.

4. There is no way in gods good earth that this is only focuses on Bangkok. It’s just that Bangkok is where the most testing is happening. In places like Chang Mai and Koran and Udon Thani tests may be in the hundreds or even tens per day.

5. The people in charge are in completely over their heads and have absolutely no idea what they are doing or what to do next.

Simply, this.

Or how it can infect those who had an earlier strain of Covid.

As I said earlier this morning I’m pretty sure I had it in the first round and I’m pretty sure I’ve got it now runny nose and a tickle in the throat.Once  you’ve had it the body remembers this time around is no where near as bad as the first time. For me it’s just like the common cold which I’ve been getting my whole life.

I think one of the problems was that Thailand came off largely unscathed initially, and so complacency and hubris set in.

Going to be an interesting few months for sure with these clowns in charge.

This is important in terms of the history and evolution of this situation we're in. I recall thinking and writing in the earlier part of last year living in Din Daeng that this was too good to be true, and I sure didn't know what to make of it, but something seemed wrong. I knew it was beyond my pay grade, but I thought there were people with government positions getting paid 8 hours a day to judge the situation and the way forward. They had resources and reports from other countries. The error is clear and we now know better a lot of the reasons for it.

I only remember that people were allowed to go shopping one day a week.

I don’t remember any reports of the shops not having food.

And that must be strictly enforced for it to be effective. If the Thai military won't do it because it impacts their pals freedoms, then ask the Chinese, they will sort this riff raff out and very quickly.

Yes somehow must be enforced, I've just been told by a Thai friend in Bangkok, last night another secret  'Hi So' gathering in Thonglor area with over 30 people caught - channel 3 news she said.....

First off, you were never tested than and won’t be tested now.

Secondly, the Delta variant doesn’t care if you were infected before.

Isn't it entirely possible that you had a cold then, and have a cold now? Either that or allergies!

China. 91,693 total infections and 4,636 deaths. Do you honestly believe this?

Judging from their fast opening up, sharp rise of economic activities and mass domestic tourism, I find very hard to doubt their success in containing the virus.

Yes brew! Let’s open things up and send the kids to school

it really isn’t that bad now is it?????????????????

As you know I'm very much in favour of opening schools, unless there is a complete lockdown.  Keeping schools closed for very long periods will cause immeasurable harm to children. I accept that some don't worry about that though.

Zoonotic unless evidence or lack of evidence proved otherwise.

"Immeasurable harm" geez.

Your a teacher and have had kid at home for quite some time. Vested interest. Of course.

The schools, in Bangkok at very least should remain closed.

Open schools and open up the threat of disease spread. I know it's a very bad situation in relation to education globally but this government refuses to take the hard medicine to put the breaks on the pandemic. Do not forget this is a pandemic of now ever increasing virulent strains and mutations. It's just going to keep rolling on. Schools open, infections found, schools closed again. Obvioulsy if infections are found the possibilty of spread into the greater community exists. This govt openned the gates and let this virus run when they should have slammed it firmly shut.

Its expanding but one good thing, at least they are publishing these places so people are aware, its the only province I see doing that.

I wonder what it would look like for Bangkok ????
