Doctors at private and public hospitals across the country are growing increasingly frustrated with the government’s policy on vaccines which they say has endangered frontline workers and threatened the country’s Covid-19 response, several doctors told Thai Enquirer on Monday.

The frontline workers, including doctors, nurses, and hospital administrative staff have been inoculated with Sinovac vaccines since April.

However, increasing evidence points to Sinovac’s ineffectiveness in preventing the transmission of the Covid-19 virus and its variants and its ineffectiveness in stopping symptomatic Delta variant transmissions.

Coming from normally mild-mannered Thai doctors, that is condemnation indeed.

Unfortunately not a Thai thing alone. What i read all those contracts are secret also in the Western world. So they have a great reason not to make them public. But it is strange a less effective vaccine costing more. Then again it is the only vaccine they can get.

Their faillure is costing peoples lives and the vaccine are bad Chinese <deleted>.

Wish we could prove if some people were making money. It would totally destroy the government.

the money trail

Find Prayut's and Anutin's offshore bank accounts and you can be sure the money trail leads there, lol!

Mind you, with the way that the international hospitals in Thailand are behaving over vaccine registration, it seems that few organisations are going to come out of this morass without the stench of corruption lingering on them.

The majority that they have been able to produce must be exported (as per their contract).

Why the Private hospitals were never allowed to place any orders for the vaccines? one thought I had they wouldn't have ordered that Chinese junk which would not fit in with certain peoples agenda.

And did the private hospitals know something we dont know?

  • Popular Post

Not giving up hope that the crisis might do what street protests and the suppressed opposition are not able to do.

There has to be some reason why the Thai government is showing such a deliberate bias towards Sinovac.  They have set up road blocks and delays for all the other alternative vaccines and made procurement of the alternative vaccines by private hospitals nearly impossible.

I know many doctors that took a two week vacation, flew to the US and were vaccinated, went shopping and then returned after the second vaccination of the Pfizer vaccine.

Anyone successful at registering with phyathai2international.com this morning? Site would not load from 09:00 until 09:20. Accessed the site at 10:00 to see message saying quota for the day filled. Now, there is a new message saying quota is only 100 per day.

It's like they're deliberately taunting us. Have thousands of us waiting at our laptops like sprinters in their blocks, and the starting gun fires and we all make a mad dash to open the website and fill in the form and smash the button only to see we just weren't fast enough. So we can all return tomorrow to try again, and make another degrading spectacle of ourselves.

What's the problem here? Can't you read the facts?

"After five days of treatment, more than 300 Covid-19 patients have been cured by fah talai jone (andrographis paniculata) or green chireta."

As far as I remember it was promoted as it will make LOS the Hub of herbal export empire, and TAT was already predicted 2 Trillon dollar income from it.

Sorry but I question your statement….let’s play this scenario out…if pfizer, the doses are 21 days  apart. (Moderna 28 days),,,to become fully vaccinated, you must add 2 additional weeks to meet the definition of “fully”….while this might not be a requirement to fly into thailand currently ( it is for the Phuket bubble), the doctor would have to go into a 14 day quarantine at a designated hotel (3 negative covid tests) before being released into the public…

this scenario does not add up to a two week vacation…

The hospitals and doctors are frustrated> What about our frustration? What about the Thai people ,Just how many received the Sinovac jab and wished they didn't today?

I had the same experience. Asked them on their online chat whether it'd be better to come in in person, but they wouldn't or couldn't answer that. So will try again tomorrow.....yawn

The doctors are frustrated how about the full-time foreigners that live here TIT

The Thai Dr's that I have experienced at Bumrungrad are World Class - Exceptional. Their hands have been tied from day one and that is disgraceful. If the private hospitals were allowed to administer vaccines from day one, we would not be so deep in this mess. I would have gladly have paid for my small team of staff and their parents who could not have afforded private treatment and remain unvaccinated to be jabbed. We are all victims of this mess and now it is becoming increasingly unacceptable.

It may or may not. Depends on who what when where and why.  Rumors and anecdotal evidence show hi-so folks also heading to the US and returning here sans quarantine upon return.

My sister and her husband in the US had their Moderna shots 2 weeks apart back in February.  A doctor I personally know here had the J&J upon arrival at the airport and returned 2 weeks later. Can it be done of course, is it recommended not really, does it happen sure it does. Believe what you will.

look towards Cuba.

Moderna doses are 28 days apart though some providers will fudge a few days short of it…others will not

the point is you made it sound like a quick 2-week trip was the norm…maybe for a few either thru corruption or noncompliance or social inequity or all three….

I agree, most foreigners here are very frustrated and quite rightly so, however this is about the most important resource that Thailand has to fight this, the frontline health workers and we need to join the Thai's in pushing for better protection for them.
