If I was a Thai I would be enraged by this baffoon trying to blame them for his and Anutins failures - enraged and mad Most of them are enraged and mad at the Govt but because they are Thai they know that rising up against a Govt with the support of the army could end very badly for those taking to the streets. I'm in awe of the student protests that having been taking place, very good and very brave people fighting for their rights and futures. 8

He can’t continue to lead the country when majority of the people feel that he is the problem not the solution. The best thing for him to “stand with the people” is for him and his government to resign and form a unity government and promise an early election. Frankly mass suicide by them may be more appealing to the people 1
Popular Post retsdon Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 There's no such thing as bad troops, just bad commanding officers. It's surprising that general Prayut doesn't know the old military adage. But perhaps local military education is on a par with all the other kinds in Thailand. 6
Pattaya Spotter Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 It's not all bad news for the PM...the magazine that everyone thinks went kaput long ago says Bangkok is a great place to be in 2021...dead bodies on the street or not! Bangkok has always been known for its hustle and bustle. Soon the Thai capital will boast Southeast Asia’s largest railway terminal as well. In November, Bang Sue Grand Station, containing 26 platforms over four floors, is expected to open, shuttling passengers all over the country and the wider region... https://time.com/collection/worlds-greatest-places-2021/6079218/bangkok/ 1

Popular Post nikmar Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 How many mimisters went on a junket to Phuket to promote the sandbox, enjoying a beachside lunch. Anutin, photographed without a mask a few times. When asked about it, he proclaimed "Always the drama". Big crowds watching the PMs ill advised open day launch oc vaccines. All with no social distancing. He is incapable of sensible thought or speech. 3 1

Popular Post gk10012001 Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 If they actually tested the population, they would probably find at least 20 % of the population had or has or will get the virus. Those are estimates based on some flu seasons. 4 1

Way, way more people infected as a result of that idiotic decision I would think than have ever been infected as a result the rest of the sins 'it' points out bundled together!! Simply unbelievable. Maybe he figured that as long as he keeps the virus spreading he can squash any protest rallies and the eventual fall of his government. He is feeling pretty safe now and thinks he is untouchable plus having his bags packed and his exit plan set once the virus subsides. 2 1 2

Instead people will become even more self-centered, claim anything that restricts their freedoms is a conspiracy, call anyone who disagrees with them "blind sheep" and blame the government for outcome. And this is in pretty much every country on this planet. Of course you can ask people to just forget their jobs and livelihoods, education and future of their children, mental health etc. for a virus and if they don't comply blame them selfish and self-centered. 4 1 4

Good job Khun Prayut Chan O Cha. Yes, if only those selfish Thais would just go off to their own homes, instead of all staying together.???? Thailand is a poor country, and this pandemic has shown how poor. The mythical magical veneer of land of plenty is beginning to rub very thin. 24 minutes ago, Poilu said: He wanted the top job. Rather than submit to a popular vote he manipulated the process to get it. Now he must accept responsibility for the situation the country is now in. Be careful of what you wish for. The concept of "with great power comes great responsibility" does not seem to hold much water in this culture. Similarly "noblesse oblige" is an alien concept. The rich, because they're certainly not noble in either sense, just want more and more, without any thought of caring for those who are less fortunate. The greed and selfishness is staggering, a phenomenon witnessed before the fall of such systems, in France in the late C18th and in Russia in the early C20th. The local equivalent of Robespierre and Trotsky will only precede chaos for years to come. 5
Popular Post mtls2005 Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 The only upside is that prayut, will go down in history (not taught in Thai schools of course) as the worst leader Thailand has ever had. Popular Post FangFerang Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 The Songkran decision was based on the controlling families desire for wealth, the knee jerk construction site closures that caused a hasty then Halted exodus was contagion's wet dream (since only the influential families can bring in illegal workers without repercussions being directed ONLY at the workers, and were in danger of actually being implicated), corrupt vaccine purchases, banning opposition parties just to retain power.......I think this dirty laundry list has just one too many strawman arguments, and that strawman will break the camel's back, and cause the rest of the extra wide load of red herrings to spill their odiferous blessings all over the road to progress. Popular Post greenmonkey Posted July 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 21, 2021 ...he forgot to mention his health minister continually lying about vaccines ordered...and the same minister encouraging people to travel for songkran when the govt knew covid was spreading. The same people he points the finger at for ignoring social gatherings etc have publicly been named as his very own staff. No mention of Thailand refusing to join the COVAX scheme for free vaccines and no mention of their decision to buy mostly sub standard Chinese vaccines. Also their lack of testing and their policy of forced isolation didn't get a mention. Still... apart from that... I suppose you could say he has done a good job! 5 1
