Most of them are enraged and mad at the Govt but because they are Thai they know that rising up against a Govt with the support of the army could end very badly for those taking to the streets. I'm in awe of the student protests that having been taking place, very good and very brave people fighting for their rights and futures.

What he said is correct,  thai's are spreading the virus at home to mom's, dad's, aunties, uncle's and brothers & sisters, they were complacent in mixing with family and friends, and gathering in groups as in the protests .....  no one can dispute this.

If they actually tested the population, they would probably find at least 20 % of the population had or has or will get the virus.  Those are estimates based on some flu seasons.

Yes, if only those selfish Thais would just go off to their own homes, instead of all staying together.???? Thailand is a poor country, and this pandemic has shown how poor. The mythical magical veneer of land of plenty is beginning to rub very thin.

Be careful of what you wish for. The concept of "with great power comes great responsibility" does not seem to hold much water in this culture. Similarly "noblesse oblige" is an alien concept. The rich, because they're certainly not noble in either sense, just want more and more, without any thought of caring for those who are less fortunate. The greed and selfishness is staggering, a phenomenon witnessed before the fall of such systems, in France in the late C18th and in Russia in the early C20th. The Songkran decision was based on the controlling families desire for wealth, the knee jerk construction site closures that caused a hasty then Halted exodus was contagion's wet dream (since only the influential families can bring in illegal workers without repercussions being directed ONLY at the workers, and were in danger of actually being implicated), corrupt vaccine purchases, banning opposition parties just to retain power.......I think this dirty laundry list has just one too many strawman arguments, and that strawman will break the camel's back, and cause the rest of the extra wide load of red herrings to spill their odiferous blessings all over the road to progress.  (If you are going to mix metaphors at least use three, I always say).

...he forgot to mention his health minister continually lying about vaccines ordered...and the same minister encouraging people to travel for songkran when the govt knew covid was spreading. The same people he points the finger at for ignoring social gatherings etc have publicly been named as his very own staff. No mention of Thailand refusing to join the COVAX scheme for free vaccines and no mention of their decision to buy mostly sub standard Chinese vaccines. Also their lack of testing and their policy of forced isolation didn't get a mention. Still... apart from that... I suppose you could say he has done a good job!
