It's busy. My experience attached from last week

IMG_20210727_154758.jpg

My SIL was offered a shot in Bang Sue (and she lives in Isarn) and she decided NOT to go

(after seeing those pictures on the internet)

Personally I wonder why she got an appointment in Bang Sue!

I also posted this in the other thread, so if it is cross posting then delete it.

Question for those foreigners that live in Isarn and that registered on ExpatVac.

Suppose the appointment comes via Email and the location is set to Bangkok / Bang Sue.

Would you go?

As far as I know there is no public transport between Isarn and Bangkok. No flights, no bus, don't know about trains. But anyway, they'll direct you to somewhere local, more or less. Do you really think they want tens of thousands flooding Bangkok?

I fully agree. But my SIL was offered (she lives in Isarn) an appointment in Bang Sue and she declined to go!

I registered at 10-55 am on Sunday 1st got confirmation on the 2nd that my application was approved got my appointment time sent on the 3rd for Friday 6th at 2 pm. A great service.

Thanks for info re: appointment.     Care to divulge what province you reside in?  I am thinking that your rapid appointment response could be a function of where you live (where you registered from)

just saw your earlier responcs that indicates Bangkok

I have registered, keeping a eye on my e mail account, no reply within 24 hours you loose your appointment, glad I did not fall for the pay in advance scam at private Hospitals, well we can hope.

Calling it a scam at this point is silly.

Most hospitals have begun to acknowledge they were oversubscribed, and are refunding money. I am quite confident that, in the event vaccinations are not given, customers will be offered a full refund or front of the queue on the next round.

But don't let me stop you from patting yourself on the back for doing nothing.

Did all of the emails come from: [email protected] -- I want to white list it if so.

Not all, as well as the above I also got a link to registration from:

[email protected]

Were you one of the ones who initally had an issue with entering your email address? I was successful right at 11am, and my automated email with the link to the registration form came from [email protected]. I'm guessing they had to reprogram their email system after this automation broke at the start, and used the support@ email address instead. But thanks, I'll watch for both of these email addresses.

I didn’t have any issues other than the initial confusion that just sending an email address was sufficient for pre-registration. I did use an alternative email address and then use the “ insert a period/full stop “ method before realising that I had supplied enough information.

As @Raybangkok stated, I received the support@ email as confirmation of receipt of email address and a link to registration. Confirmation of registration was from the expatvac@ email address.

Thanks. That seems to confirm what I said. I didn't suffer that initial nonsense with the email addresses, for a few of us the automated email system to send a registration link worked, and that was set to use the expat@ email address. After the system broke, they fixed the system and began sending those registration links using support@, which is why you received an email from that address. I expect that unless the system breaks again, all future emails will come from exoat@

Maybe noted in another topic/thread about attaching scan or photo of passport and permission to stay extension.  2 attachments didn't show on the screen, so I combined both objects onto a Powerpoint slide then exported/"Save As" as a single JPEG file.  Appears to have worked, registration successful, wait for appointment date email.

Functional website and registration process.  Nice!

Immigration could learn a thing or two from these guys. ????

You have to select both images in windows explorer and drag them into the box at the same time.

I think it's a logic puzzle, or Rubiks registration...

MOPH’s will direct those registered to the nearest places of vac incld the provinces.  Bang Sue’s one of vac centers for BKK and near by provinces.  Vac type’s subject to availability.  We still have AstraZeneca at Bang Sue now.  I expect MOPH to start using Pfizer after Aug 10.

This first inkling of turf/bureaucracy is off-putting.

Okay

So we have seen one report of a confirmed appointment slot so far.

Appointment: Bang Sue Grand Station

Residence: Pathum Thani

While Pathum is just “ up the road “ it is disappointing that the poster didn’t get a more local appointment. I am a little further up the road ( Ayutthaya ) and am hoping that there will be something available outside the Bangkok area but have my doubts.

Any more confirmed appointments ??

Indications are that Pfizer will only be available Aug 10th onwards.

MedPark has now said vaccines available 10 - 12th Aug , presumably for Pfizer preference ( over 60’s only )

Waiting with interest to see their definition of 'near by'. I am 300 Km from Bang Sue and have no intention of going there.

Time for another goal post move.

Can you share any detail on these statements?

The first one refers to ???? expatvac?

Amd you've seen or heard some clarification from MedPark?

Yes, I am 63 km north of Bang Sue and would definitely prefer somewhere more local, but doubt it will happen.

Hopefully common sense will prevail with more localities becoming available, there was talk of Buriram getting some of the Pfizer so that is good news for Isaanites, obviously not for you @Saltire.

Regarding expatvac: is only the tweets that seem to suggest Aug 10 as a starting point.

I had a Pfizer preferred appointment for evening of Aug 11th at MedPark, received an email today :

@mtls2005

Have just seen your post on the other thread, so it appears that you know as much as I do .

Seems like we will not know for certain what vaccine is offered until arrival for appointment.

Dear Andrew Dwyer,

With the recent announcement on the continuation of curfew hours, we realized that everyone may want a bit more flexibility to be able to get home a little earlier. Because of this, we’ve moved your appointment up so it is earlier in the day. And to give you flexibility, you can choose to get vaccinated at MedPark any day from 10 - 12 August, 2021 at any time between 08:00 to 19:00 hrs.

We hope this works better for you. Please arrive within the above time period, and show your original copy of current passport along with this email. Please let us know if this schedule does not work for you, and we can work something out!

See you at MedPark!

That is not quite correct. The transfer stamp is not an extension, it is a reference to the visa in the previous passport number and effectively carries forward the same functionality as the expired visa sticker, referred to on the TM7. The visa will always exist, only the status changes.

Right .... but that is why it can not be called a visa ...... but we keep calling it wrongly so , and i did not say the transfer is an extension , i said it points/ refer to the visa who get extended ....

To make it further clear.

The visa in case extension does not exist anymore when expired , but you got your stay or reason from visa extended up to date stamped (not on the stamp transfer page )

I'd be more interested to see/hear the number who have actually completed the registration process by sending in their documents and having those accepted/confirmed.

cleardot.gifYour registration for the FIRST dose of COVID-19 vaccination is successful.
Once available appointment slot is sent to your email, please confirm within 24 hours.

Failure to confirm within 24 hours will result in the cancellation of your preregistration.

For those residing in provinces other than Bangkok and neighbouring provinces (Nakorn Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon), the Ministry of Public Health will assign a vaccination site in your area. Your vaccination allocation will be provided according to priorities set by the Ministry of Public Health, i.e. age group, vulnerability, high risk zone e.t.c

It is well known that WHO usually does not approve COVID vaccines with effectiveness significantly below 50%. So it was hard for Chinese high quality vaccines to be approved. But what we see now? We see that effectiveness of Pfizer is 39% (which is significantly below 50%) :

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/23/delta-variant-pfizer-covid-vaccine-39percent-effective-in-israel-prevents-severe-illness.html

This has led to a huge increase in the number of patients in the US.

So it is very likely that WHO will cancel its approvement of Pfizer as a COVID vaccine. What will happen next? It will be very hard to travel with Pfizer vaccine certificate outside the EU. Of course the EU and US will continue to use Pfizer. And the prices for it will constantly rise ( https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/02/world/pfizer-and-moderna-raised-their-vaccine-prices-in-their-latest-eu-contracts.html ). This is how these countries prefer to win competitive fight - by simply not allowing any other vaccines to the market.
