Lampang – A missing teen female who was last seen accompanying a murdered British/Thai boy to meet with an older Thai man was found deceased and buried in a forest in Lampang, Northern Thailand.

On Saturday (May 13th) Region 5 Police revealed to Thai media that police received a clue that something smelled very badly in a forest grove near the Mae Tan – Sobprab Road in Sandon Kaew, Mae Tha. A search was launched by police, local residents, and the female teenager’s relatives.

The young woman’s body was found buried in the grove and her relatives confirmed she was the missing teen, identified due to her age only by her Thai nickname of Ping Pong, 16.

A severe wound was found on the back of her head. However, her body was taken to a hospital to find the exact cause of death and to scientifically confirm her identity.

The main suspect, Chaiwat Boonkarin, 44, in the death of Ben, also 16, had previously refused to speak about Ping Pong, although he admitted to murdering Ben. Chaiwat claimed he had met the teens in the forest to discuss a drug deal, although this is still being investigated by Thai police. Chaiwat stated that he murdered Ben in a fit of rage after the two got into a verbal argument regarding the deal.

Police in Thailand’s Lampang province have found the body of a 16-year-old girl who went missing on May 7th, when her Thai-English boyfriend was killed.

Police and about 100 villagers searched a forest bordering Kho Kha and Sop Prap districts after the police received a tipoff from an individual who claimed to have seen the girl, known as “Pingpong”, being led into the forest by a man.

At about 11am, the search team found traces of two holes in the ground, about 50 metres apart in the bushes. In one of them they found the body of a dead girl.

The remains were removed from the shallow grave while the search team waited for the arrival of forensics officers.

Police have already arrested a 44-year-old man, who is suspected of having killed a 17-year-old Thai-English boy.

The body of 16 year old “Ping Pong” was found buried in the forest in Lampang province, northern Thailand, this morning after a week-long search.

Ping Pong went missing on Saturday, May 6, after she did not return from a motorbike ride with 17 year old Woramet “Ben” Taota, a dual Thai-British national, whose body was found in the forest the next day.

A local man with a criminal history, 44 year old Chaiwat, confessed to murdering Ben but would not reveal the whereabouts of Ping Pong despite being subject to interrogation.

Until yesterday, police found “important” evidence that the killer had dumped Ping Pong’s body in the forest in the area near the checkpoint at Ban Had Pu Dai village in Na Saeng subdistrict, Kha Tha district, reports KhaoSod.

I was unaware that a Thai minor's identity, deceased or otherwise, is age protected. Is it a legal exclusion or a local media protocol?

Her name is Suraphltchaya Khamsa.

As expected of course, didn't think a second she would still be alive.

I didn't think for a moment, either, that she would have, allegedly, been involved in the boy's death, if what his father says is true.

From the Telegraph's report quoting Ben's father, it doesn't sound as if the girl was much of a princess, either.  Apparently she was dating the accused and lured Ben to a drug deal meeting with him where he was killed...

“Ben was lured to meet his killer in some kind of honey trap set by this young girl,” he told Mail Online.

“She is only 15. She and Ben have known each other since they were young. They were close,” he said. “But she is believed to have been in a relationship with this man [Chaiwat].

“He had recently been released from prison and it is clear he was a prolific drug dealer. A very evil man.”

A nasty business.  It said he was in prison on sex-related charges previously.  And her, probably addicted to drugs to boot.  I wonder what her family made of it all.

Maybe she was seeing both the man and the boy and the man found out.

What a horrible lack of parenting, probably all round.

So sad.

They should let the fathers have a hour together with the murderer.

If he had spent some time showing the dangers of drugs, maybe never in this situation.

As I wrote earlier, I thought that the boy of 16 had witnessed something and that he had to be killed, afraid that someone found out what happened.. And now I know I was right.
